A claim from Bob Arum saying the taxes were paid does not mean a damn thin. A piece of paper from Bob Arum that could have easily been forged does not prove that the taxes have been paid.

It would not take the IRS two years to provide a certified statement that the taxes have been paid. That is how long the Filipino tax agency has been waiting on Pacquaio to provide proof from the IRS that he paid the taxes. Yet, in two years, all Pacquaio has provided is a letter from Bob Arum and he expects the Filipino government to take Arum's word for it. It is obvious that there is some deception taking place here and both Arum and Pacquaio are involved in orchestrating the deception.

Arum is far too big a man to be involved in rubbish with his top fighter. He employs hundreds of people and probably only set up the original instructions with the relevant accountants years ago.

I get fed up with the outrageous speculation...like a horde of blood-hungry mad hounds yapping at some poor devil's heels. I'd thik you'd be ashamed to attach yourself to such a crew.
Arum once bribed an IBF official to get one of his fighters ranked. What makes you think Arum is far too big a man to be involved in rubbish. He has been involved in rubbish his entire career as a promoter.

To quote the revenue commissioner... ''That is self-serving and a mere scrap of paper,''she said. ''What he can do is go to the IRS, ask IRS to certify this copy (of his tax payments) as a true copy. We have been waiting for that for two years.''

        Oh, Snapple!

If Pacquaio learns anything from this experience is that he needs to leave Bob Arum and Top Rank as soon as possible. There is a reason DLH and Mayweather two of the most successful business men in boxing left Bob Arum and it wasn't because he was a nice guy.

First the dude is a complete slime ball, greasy lawyer who has screwed many fighters in the past, and we know he's screwing Pacquiao. VisionQwest investigated and told Pacquiao this, but because of his misguided sense of loyalty he dismissed them at Arum and Koncz request.

Also the fact he's saying he guarantees Pacquiaos purse for 30 million but only files payments of 10 million with Vegas has to raise a red flag. You have to ask why he's doing this? If the money is guaranteed and he has to pay taxes on it anyway, why not just file for the 30 million? If it's to avoid taxes it obviously isn't working.

Bob Arum is an A hole, who doesn't give a crap about anyone else but himself. A known liar who once said Yesterday I was lying but today I'm telling the truth. He once was heard saying " let the nigg*** and spi*** fight in the ring and we'll collect the money outside the ring". Dude is as slimy as they come.

Koncz is not going to let Manny get an accountant because, we all ask a lot and we want to know the real numbers. Yeah, Bob lies to Pac about how much money he should be making and that is why he have Koncz in there. If Pac hires a financial advisor, the story of Oscar and Floyd can repeat itself.

Pac already hired an accountant. They told him that Bob Arum was ripping him off and Koncz was on Arum's payroll as well as Pac's. Pac chose to listen to Arum's lies and fired the accounting firm. Later, the firm sued him for refusing to pay their fee.

They're probably going after him because his total earnings have been reported publicly in the media.

The BIR raises an eye brow and starts to wonder "where's the rest of the money he supposedly earned?"

Perhaps they'll come up with a way to resolve that situation soon.

That was 1.1 million pesos, which is only $25,200 in U.S. money. Where is that $18 million that Arum supposedly guaranteed him? If Arum truly paid him that money, he could have deposited it in the U.S. bank and he wouldn't have to beg the Filipino tax agency to release his $25,200 to pay his taxes. What this tells me is that Arum lied about paying Pacquaio $18 million.

That should be the straw that breaks the camel's back and wakes him up.

I hope I'm wrong, but something tells me Arum and Koncz are tag teaming against Pac and some Team Pacqiuao insiders/confidants might also be in on the game too.

Educated people with common sense should easily realize this. What happen if Pac didn't pay his taxes from 2008-2009 to the US IRS? Do you think the IRS will not chase Pac ass like they did to Floyd? Now is already 2014 next year. Take note US and Philippine government had an agreement about double taxes. If Pac already paid his taxes to IRS, he doesn't need to pay again the Philippine government. Since BIR had an agreement to IRS why not just confirm it to them directly? It will not rob them 10 minutes of their precious time to so.

They're obviously insisting on a certified copy for a reason. Bob is saying they requested the copies and that the IRS is slow. The BIR is saying it shouldn't take 2 years to get those copies.

Apparently, they suspect something fishy's going on.

Yes, very sad. All this smacks of seediness, and harkens back to the mob days. Famous fighter broke! Prosecution for tax evasion! It wouldn't surprise me if they gave him the job that old Joe Louis was forced to take. A greeter at a Vegas casino, relying completely on the kindness of others.
