When Balls Shrink: The Tale Of Brandon Rios

Yeah I was just as surprised. The reason I predicted an early round KO was because I thought that after the first few rounds Rios would get frustrated and go head hunting and Pac would catch him.
Never thought that Rios would shell up and go into survival mode after those first few. Even old man Mosley put up more of a fight.
Rios is a C-class bum that can take a punch. Nothing more.Comment

shoulda woulda coulda. how exactly were mosley and rios supposed to win. Mosley was just whooped by mayweather and had an awful fight with sergio mora. you gotta be trolling my brother, you just gotta be lol.Shane Mosley was the worst of the macho fighters. Dude ran like a scared cat after all the talking. He ran so fast he had blisters on his feet gushing blood
Rios and Mosley both lost when they should have won. I picked Mosley to knock out Pacman but he got whipped by that fine latina she weakened his legs.Comment

Rio is not capable of unloading on a fighter who isn't there to unload on. Pac rarely provided an immobile target like Rios needs to let his hands go. When he did open up, he got tagged by hard shots and combos. Rios is a human being, getting the **** beat out of him wore him down. How did he "give what he could" exactly man... The "crazy warrior" who says fighting is better than sex we all knew and expected became one of the most defensive and cautious fighters last night. And when I say defensive I mean, not willing to go at Pac like he has at others in the past. All he did similar to what he has before was just smile when he got punched, rinse and repeat. The most he did was in the 3rd or 4th, can't remember right now, where he showed hints of what he should've done through the entire fight.Comment

Great point. It seemed as if everytime Pac turned, Brandon, mentally and physically, hit reset. No doubt that was a key factor. Some interesting theories in here...
From Watching the fight it's easy to say it was the Huge difference in foot speed. Pacquiao kept turning him and turning him, and dont forget, regardless what anyone says Pacquiao has good power. Unique combination that belongs to Pacquiao.
I always said that Brandon has the power to KO Pacquiao, but Being able to catch him is another obsticle he would have trouble overcoming. You can't go in recklessly against Pacquiao either, simple as that.
And as far as the "BAlls" comment, Rios Never took a step back....
But then, he never adjusted or tried to go out of his way to land something big. It was like, "if it stays this way, it will stay this way". And I understand that but that is sort of what Rios led everyone to believe, and has through his entire career. He is willing to come at you like an animal, he came close to being a barking puppy though.
That is about the only thing I can credit him with, kept coming forward... like a punching bag though.Comment

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he doesn't have balls it takes balls to step in the ring period but he didn't give the same effort he gave against other people he's fought from what i saw. was that cause manny wasn't there to be hit? or because rios was afraid of getting countered? I'm not sureComment

That was not brandon rios we saw last night... when people think of a come forward agressive high volume fighter we think brandon rios. we've never seen this dude take a step backwards. i think rios knew deep down if he wanted to fight with his balls like he said he would he would got KO'D. he even said in the post fight interview "I tried, if I looked for the knockout i probably would've gotten myself knocked out"Yeah I was just as surprised. The reason I predicted an early round KO was because I thought that after the first few rounds Rios would get frustrated and go head hunting and Pac would catch him.

even rios knew his usual brawling style wasn't going to fly against pacquiao so he tried to kinda box. it still didn't work. mix all the emotions (the dude was shaking BADLY in the pre fight interview) rios was just overmatched. in the end 99% of people were right. rios was manny's comeback fight nothing more.Comment

Even passed prime, manny is about 10 times better than anyone he been in there with.. it might have something to do with that.Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he doesn't have balls it takes balls to step in the ring period but he didn't give the same effort he gave against other people he's fought from what i saw. was that cause manny wasn't there to be hit? or because rios was afraid of getting countered?
