Thought Rios did better in the early rounds than people are giving him credit for. Don't think Roy was wrong when he said Manny looked uncomfortable at times and Manny himself said he was hurt in that fifth round.

Rios just needed Manny to be a lot more faded than he was. Manny wasn't the dynamo that fought Cotto or Hatton but he was still moving well enough to keep turning Rios and to not get trapped in positions where Brandon could tee off on him

By the time the fight hit the middle rounds, Rios was finding it harder and harder to cut the distance. And on top of that he'd felt enough of Manny's power to know he couldn't just wade in and let his hands go. In a way, it mirrored what happens in a lot of Floyd's fights. The opponent stops letting his hands go because he knows how low his chances are of landing, and he knows he'll pay a price when he misses.

The basic toolkit has to be there for guys to compete with Floyd or Manny. Rios just didn't have the tools, and there was jack**** he could do about it.

That's because Pacquiao was rarely just there to be hit, and when he was it was because he was hitting Rios with shots. It's the problem all high activity fighters, including Pacquiao, have with guys aren't there.

Ok yea.Thats very true pacquiao moved around a lot but the few times he kinda did stand there Rios took advantage of it but the problem was pacquiao wasn't sitting in one place enough

I fell for it like a sucker, I'll admit. Thought this would be a war to remember counting on Bam Bam's wild spirit.

And that point you make about being emotionally drained, you are on to something. I never thought that Bam Bam would get emotionally affected but he did. He was talking about butterflies, didn't get involved in the Roach/Garcia conflict, way too calm and quiet through the buildup... I do believe emotionally and psychologically he just lost himself.
i was excited for fight but i thought he had no chance in hell just not good enough pathetic match making honestly

I wouldn't say Rios didn't try. In the early going he landed some leather and roughed up pac. and proved a resilient opponent. Pacquiao was just too fast for him, too dynamic. I do think Rios didn't sell out, but then, if he had he would have been knocked out.

Were you expecting him to just lower his hands and let himself get tagged while windmilling punches at the air? There is a common misconception about Rios and his ilk. Rios does NOT get off on getting hit. He gets off on the back and forth. On the exchange. Like you got me I'll get you. Manny's skillset was too good to allow those kind of echanges that fuel Brandon's psyche. Brandon was, by and large, on the receiving end of a one sided beatdown. I thought he was valiant enough in the fight. The fight reminded me alot of the Margarito fight, and Rios got less punishment of the two.

Brandon Rios's balls shrunk like none other have in a long while. I am in shock, I really am.

Shameful, embarrassing, disappointing... Just a few words to describe, not his obvious inferior skill set, but his disgraceful attempt at winning that fight on such a big stage. Not even wild swings or desperation, Bam Bam came to Bank Bank that check.

When these brave machos face elite danger, that's when the men from the boys are separated. Brandon is all talk, no balls. I hope Provodnikov doesn't follow suit because I was in utter shock at what I saw last night.
Shane Mosley was the worst of the macho fighters. Dude ran like a scared cat after all the talking. He ran so fast he had blisters on his feet gushing blood

Rios and Mosley both lost when they should have won. I picked Mosley to knock out Pacman but he got whipped by that fine latina she weakened his legs.

Brandon Rios tried. He did what he could. He got the **** beat out of him and had nothing left to give by the end. Had nothing to do with lack of heart, Rios was physically incapable of giving more by the end. His corner should have stopped it when that became evident, either after the 10th or 11th.
How did he "give what he could" exactly man... The "crazy warrior" who says fighting is better than sex we all knew and expected became one of the most defensive and cautious fighters last night. And when I say defensive I mean, not willing to go at Pac like he has at others in the past. All he did similar to what he has before was just smile when he got punched, rinse and repeat. The most he did was in the 3rd or 4th, can't remember right now, where he showed hints of what he should've done through the entire fight.

Rios tried, he was just outgunned and over matched.

That Mosley fight was depressing. Never thought I'd see Sugar Shane run from anyone. Hell, he never ran from Alvarez but he didn't even think of trading with Pacquiao.
