  • Its pretty obvious Pac doesnt have leverage anymore so Arum wants to cash out.

Nothing wrong with that. Floyd fans need to fall back. Pac still poses the biggest threat. Make it happen!

Now it's a different Pacquiao. He's grown much older, his power and defense have suffered a lot. He couldn't knock Bradley down even once, whereas Provodnikov did no less than five times, even if the sellout referee ruled it differently.

But the most important thing is that brutal punch he got from Marquez. A punch like that is a career-changer. Pac will NEVER be the same after that. So of course, for Mayweather this is the perfect time to seek for that fight. A damaged, out of his prime Pacman will be an easy victory for him NOW but it would have been a sure loss years ago, when Pac was at his 100%

I'm sure most people realize this situation. Pac is a has-been now and Mayweather is almost at his best form. If this fight takes place, IT WILL NOT define who is the best of his era.

This era has been dominated by those two fighters. Here's something interesting:

      The Ring Magazine's Annual Ratings
From 2000 to 2012 (#1 pound for pound fighter)

      2000 Mosley
      2001 Mosley
      2002 Hopkins
      2003 Jones Jr.
      2004 Hopkins
      2005 Mayweather Jr
      2006 Mayweather Jr
      2007 Mayweather Jr
      2008 Pacquiao
      2009 Pacquiao
      2010 Pacquiao
      2011 Pacquiao
      2012 Mayweather Jr
      2013 Mayweather Jr

Yes, I know the 2013 fighter hasn't even been chosen yet, but it is 100% obvious that it will be Mayweather Jr., after his convincing victory over Canelo Alvarez. So there you go, from 2000 to 2013, Mayweather has been a 5-time P4P king, while Pacquiao has been the king four times, but in his case, he was a back to back king. He lost his crown in 2012 when he was robbed vs. Bradley and then brutally KO'd by Marquez.

So it's easy to see that Pacquiao LOST his prime in 2012 and he will NEVER recover it. The so-called super-fight makes no sense now. Had it happened between 2003 and June 2012, it would have been probably the best fight ever. Now it would be a one-sided fight where Mayweather would win easily.

Frankly, I don't understand why people are even interested in such a fight NOW. Floyd would be fighting a has been, a guy who WAS the greatest at a certain time, pretty much the same as when Pacquiao defeated a has-been Mosley (and a bit later, EVEN CANELO ALVAREZ defeated Mosley too!).

IMO the only guy capable of beating Floyd today is Rigondeaux, but there's a little problem: he fights five weight divisions below Mayweather --a super-bantamweight vs. a welterweight who sometimes even fights super-welterweight?

So sadly, there's no competition for Floyd TODAY. I really hope somebody proves me wrong in 2014 because I totally dislike Mayweather Jr and his cowardly style of fighting. But I just don't see who can beat him. Nobody has the necessary foot and hand speed, combined with tireless stamina and power that Pacquiao had in his prime, which was more than enough to beat a 100% defensive Floyd. Certainly, an over-the-hill and permanently-damaged Pacquiao stands no chance IMO!
This is a fair sincere posting...
... Therefore: with no competition to date, Floyd should take the Manny fight... There is no other fight that would sell bigger than this right now...

... They might pull at least one fight from these... And possibly a rematch... Even a trilogy... In case they play it smart...

floyd became p4p #1 after beating gatti. they moved him from #10 to #2 after beating carlos alberto rios, justin juuko, and carlos gerena. he's been overhyped and silver spooned his entire career. he's the original berto cept he hasn't lost to the b-level opposition he hand-picked.

Lara Trout no shot and no fans.

All roads lead to Pac / Floyd otherwise showtime takes a bath on their six fight sucker deal with lameweather. Bravo Al Haymon.
In ppv money alone the may vs canelo did approximately 170,000,000! That figure does not include the gate or closed circuit which all did record breaking amounts. So showtime is looking like genius planners for signing may. Plus more people signed up with showtime bringing their market share close to 50%. They are close to hbo and should over take hbo as king of the boxing cable networks. I bet hbo wish they had matched showtimes offer. They are losing big time.

The theory is funny. No one has fought more champs than floyd. Pac beat a has been barrera, a old shop worn el terrible, he was afraid of shan mosley, twicw shane went to the wild card to beg for that fight. And twice roach told him your too good no. He only got the pac fight after he got schooled by floyd and not until he signed with top rank. Floyd dismantled canelo. Lets see pac fight canelo and see what happens. All of a sudden pac has no power, WHY??????? The power is tne last to go. And don't say because he moved up to ww, he still had power until, all the talk of ost came about and for the 1st time in his career the 1st fight ever he is taking ost. He is powerless withOut arizas a special shakes.

Hahahahahaha! Good come back. But at this pointfloyd dont need pac. He is making HUGE paydays, record purses. While pacis broke and begging arum for advances on his fight purses. Something he has been doing for quite some time. I actually want to see this fight. I have said all along floyd will ko pac inside of 7 rounds. Pac is just too easy for a accurate counter puncher. With those wide swings and off balance stance, he will get hurt. Be it 09 or 2014 the outcome is still the same.
