I think the fact that Groves has never been hurt at the level before is probably the reason why the ref stopped it, I personally think it was premature but the next punch would probably have drop or stop Groves, he won today no matter what doe..

a ref is only supposed to factor in whether or not he thinks a man can / should continue. their pasts shouldn't be part of his decision.

I was, I criticised Froch in the build-up. I didn't understand his hostility towards Groves. I like both fighters.

Imo boxing fans need to calm down take a step back and think about Frankie Leal, Daniel McKinnon and Magomed Abusamalov.

Stoppage was good imo. Groves lives to fight another day. Typical Froch asking for a rematch.

Cmon Weebler, that stoppage was bull.

George was dominating, ahead, and it was the fight of his life, you can't justify it whatsoever.

How is it fair that when Froch is in trouble he gets given the 'tough guy' mentality? Where as Groves gets hurt ONCE and the ref puts him in a headlock?

My thoughts on the outcome..

The stoppage by the referee was crazy. Groves was badly hurt but you can't stop a major World title fight like that especially after Groves' dominating.

However, I believe with 90 seconds left in the round that Groves was hurt enough for Froch to stop him very shortly after the ref stepped in.

Great fight.. gained a lot of respect for Groves. Froch was gone in round 1 which shows the power Groves has but the bell saved him.

Rematch will happen no question, it has to.

(On a side note: people booing Froch for the stoppage was very unfair. It was not his fault the ref stepped in)

What pissed me of the most was watch the Froch KD in round 1.

FROCH WAS OUT BEFORE HE HIT THE CANVAS, WHEN HE GOT UP ITS WAS INSTINCT NERVOUS REACTION, HE WAS STILL OUT????
why didn't the ref stop it then? and he took further bombs after? same in round 6?

The only time Carl lands "Legally", ref stopped it.

Carl was a B class fighter tonight at best and Groves was levels above in terms of talent and skills!

I have never seen Froch so badly hurt, no doubt his chin has been dented
