Carl Froch vs George Groves IBF SMW Title & Undercards Prediction Discussion Thread

Here's the GIF. Froch landed a couple of decent punches during that sequence, but nothing to suggest that Groves couldn't survive the next minute or land a heavy counter shot what he has success with all night.

Groves made numerous mistakes in this sequence, and still, Froch needed the ref to stop the fight because he couldn't finish Groves off.

I want Groves/Stieglitz next. If he gets the victory, fight Froch again if he still has the belt.

Look at the legs, they are gone along with his defences.

Even after the ref lets him go, first thing he does is stagger into the middle rope. Ref should have let Froch finish it truly, but I see no way that it gets to the end of that round.

That gif doesn't show it clearly. They played a replay to the head of the BBBoC post-fight, Froch landed a vicious combination flush on Groves who was already tired and up against the ropes. Groves was about to get beaten like Lucien Bute, the ref saved his health. I think Froch's jaw is damaged too.

Groves fought a great fight, did himself and British boxing proud.

Howard Foster (the referee) is an absolute joke. I wanted to scream at the TV every time some **** referred to him as "a world class referee". Premature stoppages are his trademark. I predicted something like this would happen.

Definitely not a "domination" like people are making out. Groves winning but close fight IMO.

I felt Froch would have got him out of there if not in that round then in the next 3.

The ref must have felt he had taken too much punishment.

I understand the people's frustration and before the last month or two I likely would have agreed with everyone else, but McKinnon was allowed to fight on last weekend and ended up in intensive care, Magomed was allowed to fight on and he is in a coma. An early stoppage is better than a late one imo.

Jim Watt calling Groves a "hero" was a little strange.

I did think Froch was clearly losing though, I gave him maybe 2 rounds out of 8. The scorecards were a joke.
