Most casuals see those lists and that's pretty much all the fighters they could mention in a conversation.

How I see it is, Golovkin has the more fan friendly style, and has been much more active lately.
That doesn't mean jack shit in the minds of the people that have Ward as a top 5 P4P guy.
He has earned it. Maybe in a ugly way, but an effective way.
I will say on Golovkins behalf that it will be hard for him to crack the top 10 P4P list, when the top guys at 160 seem to running around like chickens with their heads cut off avoiding him.
But he will draw viewers, no doubt about it.

His style has nothing to do with Ratings, if you match him up against someone people THINK can defeat him the ratings will be Solid
It was a lot going on that night to be honest, I was watching USC vs Stanford College Football probably more so than that fight because I just never thought Edwin had a chance and that game was close and came down to the Wire
UFC was on as well which did have a more ENTERTAINING MAINEVENT in which people was actually talking about on twitter and was Trending more so than the Ward fight
Nevermind don't even know why I replied after seeing who started this Thread, the biggest B!TCH on this forumLast edited by sicko; 11-20-2013, 12:28 AM.

The Ward vs Dawson fight only drew 1.3 million and many people were up for that fight.
It is his style of fighting. He could have taken Rodriguez out at any point after the 6th or 7th round. Rodriguez was a lame duck at that point, but Ward holds back. He does not have a killer instinct.
That does affect ratings. He is going to be hard to work with. He will expect bigger and bigger paydays, but at some point HBO is going to stand their ground. Sometimes great products do not sell, they don't have the IT factor.
Floyd also does not have a Killer instinct like many, but what he does in the ring is pure artistry and is beautiful to watch. What Ward does is frustrating. His fight on the weekend actually started making me feel claustrophobic. Nobody wants to watch a spoiler type fighter. He landed some clean nice shots, like with his jab, but so many were inside clubbing punches, holding and hitting etc.

why would hbo pay this eyesore 2 million a fight when they pay golovking 400k and he draws more viewers and his stock is only going up. ward needs to take a pay cut if he wants to stay on hbo. if he leaves......oh no lol!
