Will "boring styles" eventually kill boxing?

Every time Ward stinks the place out, the 'slick pure boxer sweet science slickster' brigade, basically the boxing fan equivalent of hipsters, have to try and tell everyone that doesnt like the fact that they have been bored to tears that their not real fans because they cant appreciate what has just fooking bored them. I have been involved in the sport and have been a fan of the sport for over 30 years and dont need some snotty nosed, thick as pig**** eejit trying to tell me that a turd is really a golden nugget. I don't think boxing will ever die. The top boxers make more money today than they ever did before. The highest paid MMA star would have to fight about 50 times to make the same money Floyd makes for one fight. There are lots of boxers fighting today with exciting styles. GGG, Garcia, Matthysse, Thurman, Maidana, Pacquiao, Rios and lots of other fighters really come to fight.

That says all. Cool post.

Also, the thing is, exciting is a relative word. I find boxers with defensive art more exciting than face first, unskilled fighters.

As for the rest of your crappy post. It wouldnt really matter whether I had never set foot in a gym or gone to a fight card, fans of the sport(not fans of individual fighters or in your case, fans that back fighters because of their ethnicity) generally have working eyes and learn as they watch and grow their interest in the sport. As it happens, I boxed extensively as a kid and also represented my regiment 12 times whilst serving in the army. I still also train(though cant fight because of injury at the moment) to keep in shape and help and support the other lads in my gym. We have both an amateur and professional set up across 3 different sites and even have one of our juniors representing England in Russia at the moment.

I think we as boxing fans expect way too much from these fighters and it's time for us to lower our expectations. This is not the freaking Colosseum. These fighters have families they need to provide for.
