I agree with you in your last sentence, but not in the first. He have all the weapons to be a super star with the best P4P fighters, but he needs a fair and decent promoter. That's why he is putting pressure over Arum in order to him do his job. In his divisions around I hardly see someone better than him

Rigo's Manager admits to cherry picking
“We’ve got Agbeko next. There are no easy fights but he will suit Rigondeaux. He comes to fight, he’s not going to run away from Rigondeaux until he feels his power.”
(just using flowmo logic here since they latch onto anything they can to hate on non b fighters especially pacman so figured I used a sample of what they do)Comment

Nah man. Given Rigo's age and amount of bouts I think it's perfectly save to say that he will never be a star. And by star I mean a PPV fighter. A headliner on regular HBO? Sure. I mean, he is headlining right now.Originally posted by racostaaQuote:

So Agbeko has the IBO belt? So if Rigo wins he will be WBA, WBO, IBO and Ring champ? Kiko has the IBF right? Make that next Arum. Then switch over to GB and snatch the WBC from Santa Cruz.

How can Arum make a fight that the other guy doesn't want? Kiko has already gone on record saying he doesn't want Rigo he wants Nonito Donaire.
Rigo is in a no win situation when it comes to landing fights, this is why he has to move up the bigger names are at 126, its baby pounds, so him not moving up to 126 is weird wtf? he is already beating guys who will weigh bigger than him going to 126 will not make a difference.
I think Arum should just let Rigo go, he doesn't really care for his stye so why hold this guy back? maybe Arum is doing this out of spite he doesn't want Golden Boy to have him so he is saying I don't want him, but I will keep him because I dont want GB to have him.Comment

The truth
Everything his manager said is exactly the truth.
HBO and Top Rank were upset that Rigondeaux not only beat their prime star in Donaire, but that he did it so effortlessly. If the fight had been closer we'd be talking a rematch and maybe a rubber match, but since Rigondeaux completely dominated Donaire, that is what pissed them off.
I hope Rigondeaux ends his contract with Top Rank and uncle Bob soon. The stable with Golden Boy is much better these days. Would love to see him fight it out with Mares. Mares would be a huge underdog in my eyes, but Mares won't care he'll go in trying to win.Comment

Yet another ****ed up moment in Boxing. There are different ways to beat people but Rigo didn't just beat Donaire or just win, he embarrassed him in the worst way and made him look like he didn't deserve a fight. Especially worse because most people felt this was just another match ( talking about casual fans ) and another moment to broadcast Donaires skills. He has every right to get mad and "complain" about how he's treated. He's only going to get older and his own promoter defecating on him is horrible for businessLast edited by Bravado; 11-15-2013, 10:59 AM.Comment
