Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux's Manager on Disrespect, Jabs Donaire

Gary Hyde is a busy man these days with an ever expanding stable of fighters under his management.

As was reported earlier today on BoxingScene, Hyde has signed up talented middleweight Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam who will make his debut in Barcelona on December 14.

The Irishman recently had a good weekend in the Catalan capital, seeing two of his men in Mark Heffron and Iain Weaver claim victories. Weaver is still hoping he will receive clearance from the British Boxing Board of Control to fight in Great Britain after they found a cyst on his brain during a medical. [Click Here To Read More]

Rigo should go to Golden Boy... I believe they will make that switch... Bob can keep hype job Donaire... he will never reach Manny's elite level.

Real talk. Glad to see him stand up for his fighter. We are all aware that Rigo beating Donaire was not in Top Rank and HBO's plans and that is why he was treated the way he was post fight.

But we can all ***** and complain all we want. When push comes to shove, its up to Rigo to keep training hard, keep dominating and stay atop the division. We can buy tickets and tune into his fights but its up to him to keep winning and putting on master class performances.

I have nothing but respect for Rigo as a fighter but his and his team's constant whining and bitterness is getting annoying. So the Donaire win didn't turn him into a superstar overnight. It sucks, it's unfair, etc... Now how about he stop complaining and try to earn star treatment? It will take him more work than it did certain other fighters, but that's hardly a tragedy. He is still luckier than the vast majority of boxers.

Rigo’ will be defending his WBO and WBA ‘super’ titles on December 7 against Ghana’s experienced former IBF bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko, who currently holds the IBO's version of the belt.
I thought Rigo had the Ring belt too?

And before the fight, a few of us said it, Rigo hits harder or as hard as Donaire.

You mean the same way Donaire b*tches and moans? Except he's 100% worse?

Nobody thinks Rigo is gonna be a star and all he wants is a fair treatment.

I disagree, because for him is essential to get good fights in a timely manner. There's no way for him to show who he is without a good promoter looking for good fights able to make him a superstar. The worst thing is that your own promoter said things against you. Is like your lawyer accusing you in front of a judge. He is the only one with balls to confront Bob Arum, and saying the truth against him. The others teams should do the same instead of closing their mouth. Sorry, but Cubans in exile are not submissive and obedient people once they liberate from the communism. Ussually when you have the balls to leave cuba in a raft is because you are not the obedient guy who always do what others say

He will never be a "star". We all know that. But for his own promoter to insult him the way he did after the biggest win over his career was wrong and needs to be addressed.
