He does, and I believe Geale has an option on the winner. I'm not certain Murray hangs around waiting if he gets a big offer from HBO or GBP in the meantime.

So Geale has a rematch clause to the winner of the Barker-Sturm fight in which if Barker loses he has a rematch clause versus the winner and then the winner of that rematch claused fight has to rematch Geale because he has a rematch clause against the winner of the second Barker-Sturm fight (unless Barker wins, in which case Geale exercises his rematch clause immediately) ?

I wonder what happens to a rematch clause if said fighter takes a fight before exercising the rematch:

            I.e: Froch-Bute

is Bute still entitled to a rematch with Froch, or is that done with because he went another direction?

I have no idea. I know that's still open to discussion... but I think they had a rematch clause for it to be in Canada

                yes, exactly,,

to be fair other sports like basketball and soccer have multiple leagues but within each league the best play the best,, in boxing even if both are highly ranked by the same sanctioning body there is no guarantee they are going to fight ie murray-ggg, canelo-lara, etc

Even in mma you have ufc, bellator, etc,, they may not do cross promotions but you can be assured that the top guys within each organization will fight each other

boxing needs to get its act together,,, I always said that GBP and TR should join forces and create their own belts much like UFC,,,

                  That's what I like about UFC/Bellator.

It's like if the governing bodies also promoted their own fighters and had them fight each other instead of having dozens of puffy fights then stacking them with puffy fights

The only belt that matters from the WBA is the Super Champ. If there's only 1 champion, then theres your answer. In the case of Super/Unified champions - Unified champions often hold the "Regular" belt and therefore aren't the true WBA champ, such as Froch where Ward is the WBA Super champ. I've never seen a situation where the WBA have a Super, Unified and Regular champ, and i'm certain the WBA only have 1 or maybe 2 champions at 160 currently.

The rules of 5 defences being upgraded has been in effect for years. It's just a myth that only unified champions become 'Super' (though this used to be the case a long time ago)

But I agree, it's getting beyond a joke now. The sanctioning bodies really need to follow the example of the IBF - one world title, enforce mandatories, no interims/silver/super/emeritus, only a couple of minor titles (international/intercontinental).

Exactly. Like I said earlier, it seems the IBF has been the best lately. And I love the fact that they actually.... you know, enforce mandatory fights.
