Kovalev is a level above these type of guys. He should move to CW to fight Lebedev and Huck because LHW is too easy for him.

I agree... they're really throwing to him in nomans land here. If he was to somehow win, it would be by him putting on a masterful boxing clinic and would a very, very impressive win.

Silkah is a pretty good puncher and he can hurt anyone out there, so if his chin holds up then like I said we have a good fight. Kovalev never been past the eighth round...What's his stamina like? Will he slow down or can he keep up a high pace throughout the whole fight?

Thats the one question and big question about Kovalev. He throws 100 punches per round, so if it gets taken past 5..... It will be interesting to see how he deals

Nah. I know it's Darnell Boone, but he does get those flash KDs. Guy's got an unorthodox style that can score the odd surprise. KOd Stevenson, KDed Ward and Kovalev.

I think there's an interview somewhere on the Kovalboxer site' Boone KDed him no question. Kovalev said he he was badly prepared mentally, firstly under- then overestimating Boone (who was at the time a significant step up and fighting in his home town). After the KD - I think in 6 - Kovalev says he just gritted the last coupla rounds out.

In the Boone II commentary apparently Kovalev had said he shoulda finished Boone off in Boone I but failed to press his advantage - since then Kovalev has become a merciless finisher which kinda suggests he took the lesson to heart.

EDIT. Just outta curiosity, how many people think Sillakh would beat Bellew?

I don't think Sillakh can beat Bellew, the Liverpudlian is hard as nails, has a very good punch and can box when he needs to. Sillakh doesn't hit all that hard, doesn't take punishment that well and hasn't had the hard knocks Bellew has to come through hell to win.

Bellew wide decision or late stoppage.

For any boxer to put on a masterful performance against a puncher such as Kovalev you have to have Ali/Leonard/Robinson/Hagler levels of concentration. Sillakh doesn't and he lacks a granite chin, the second thing needed to beat such a puncher.

All in all, it's going to be a painful night for the Black Russian.

You guys are sleeping on Sillakh, this is a much closer fight than most of you think. Sillakh is easily a top 5 LH. Yes, he got caught and knocked out, but it looked like he got lazy and started to **** around. He was EASILY winning that fight at the time of the stoppage.

I like Kovalev in this due to resume and experience, but I think this is a 60-40 fight. Do NOT be shocked if Sillakh outboxes him and TKOs/KOs him late.

                    Cloud-Sillakh makes perfect sense.

Cloud's awful, coming off 2 one sided loss's, proven that he struggles and takes a while to stop even glass chinned fighters.

A great cross roads fight for both and comeback fight for the winner.

Putting Sillakh in the ring with Kovalev is just taking him out to the slaughter.

This will be Kovalevs toughest opponent by far. Sillakh might have some chin problems, but he can box. He's slick. Kovalev hasn't really fought someone like that. I think Sillakh is better than Campillo.

If he destroys him it will be a huge statement. But I won't be surprised if he loses either.

This fight will tell us a lot about Kovalev.
