Rodriguez is a live dog. Ward hasn't fought in a year and could be a little rusty. That could be a big factor, but Rodriguez is also a big SMW that can box and and has a substantial reach advantage over Ward. Its a interesting fight there is no denying Ward's skills, but I think Rodriguez will give him a tougher than expected fight.

And since then he has fought different styles which can only help with experience. Experience is something you can't teach and something that plays a big role.

He still throws wide punches and has a porous defense. His power is his only shot to win. Try to catch Ward early and hurt him.

He may go to the UK, he may not. I just think at some point, the $$$ is going to be hard for him to ignore.

Or he could avoid all this hassle and just move up to LHW where there are plenty of guys he could fight.
They could force it, but they don't have as much leverage as Sergio being the mando. Jcc Jr also wanted the fight with martinez and threatened to leave at the end of his contract... that just ended.

I see Arum selling out Chavez Jr to Ward to sign the #2 P4P fighter and second best technician out there.

Pretty weak, but he's lucky that two of the best fights are on the HBO side

He isn't such a bad boxer, he places his shots well and throws a variety of punches.

He's no more skilled than Froch and I saw what Ward did to him with a broken hand.

I don't give him much chance, not even a puncher's chance but perhaps i may be under-estimating him too much?

Ward is just too crafty, but if Rodriguez gets Wards attention early with some huge shots, he could make Ward fight more cautious (only problem is it could lead to a lot of holding).

I like Rodriguez, and i hope he proves me wrong and makes it closer than i think it will be but i suppose if you are going to face Ward, there isn't a better time after a lay-off due to injury.

It could be close for the first 3-4 rounds due to ring-rust from Ward, but Andre is a true professional who'll find his way into the fight and cruise to a wide decision.

First couple of rounds should be close then Ward takes over the fight and wins by UD.

I give Bomba about a puncher's chance and that's about it. I don't see him outboxing Ward...

What are your thoughts heading into this fight? Realistically speaking, what are his chances on beating Ward? How do you expect this fight to play out?

Chances are slim and none. If Haymon is sizing up anyone to be a future client it's Ward not Rodriguez. I'm sure Haymon is illustrating to Ward his ability to assemble a stable of opponents which is how GBP does it. It takes 2 in the ring to tango and Ward's post SuperSix problem has been finding credible opponents.

Including to the back of the head! That ref should've warned him or taken a point away, that was disgraceful!
