Analyzing this fight... it is very intriguing/interesting. The thing that shocked me the most was that after Al Haymon picked him up, he thought it was wise to throw him in against Ward. What does he see in Ward that makes him think Edwin can beat him?

I give Bomba about a puncher's chance and that's about it. I don't see him outboxing Ward...

What are your thoughts heading into this fight? Realistically speaking, what are his chances on beating Ward? How do you expect this fight to play out?

Like I said before, I don't see Edwin winning. But depends on which one shows up, he could give Ward a run for his money... I think.

I've seen a few Rodriguez fights, he seems like a fundamentally sound fighter with a decent punch. He has struggled with average opposition in the past though (Maderna and Rosinsky). I think Ward should be able to handle him without too much trouble, but it will be a good fight to see how Ward comes back.

I forgot Rodriguez was an Al Haymon fighter, if the fight is remotely close we might see some funny business happening. Ward hasn't fought in over a year and is coming back from shoulder surgery I think (that likely played a role in Haymon taking this fight).

He has good skills, good speed, good pop. He does tend to throw wide shots and his defense gets sloppy as the fight goes on, I see him giving a rusty Ward some problems in the first 2-3 rds before Ward takes control.

His shots are wayyyyyy to wide. He has a chance if he catches Ward... but don't see much outside of that

He'll trouble a rusty Ward early with activity, but his looping punches and defense will leave him open for Ward's counters to the body and head. Ward by a wide UD or possibly late stoppage if Rodriguez feels his power early.

Rosinsky gave La Bomba absolute hell when they fought and he isn't even remotely close to Ward's league.
