Yeah that's one. He fought Rodriguez on a ShoBox card and was matching him punch for punch throughout the fight. Rodriguez looked good in the tournament, but blasting out Grachev doesn't prove anything when it comes to facing Andre Ward. I think Ward is going to look very good here. Very, very good.

Yea.. he won't land those loopity loops on Ward... plus it's not like Grachev was hard to hit

Far less than Alfonso Lopez. Rosinsky Edwin was a tossup, as was him vs Pryor jr

Rosinsky gave La Bomba absolute hell when they fought and he isn't even remotely close to Ward's league.
With all due respect, Angel, Rosinsky giving Rodriguez hell is the best thing that can happen to a young boxer. He was an undefeated prospect himself and WANTED the win.

But it really doesn't mean too much in regards to this fight. I think Ward wins handily but many, many young fighters have early career struggles only to learn & improve from them - Ward included.

True. I guess what I'm saying is that I really haven't seen any improvement in Edwin, technique wise, since that fight. He fights about the same as he did then and he was just so easy to get to for Rosinsky on the inside.

But that's why they fight the fights!

He just needs to go for broke early and hope to catch a rusty Ward with a shot he doesn't see coming.

                    That's what I thought but we'll see
Idk what it is but he's inconsistent. He struggled vs lesser opposition but destroyed ol' boy his last fight who gave a lot of people trouble.

Fair enough. I haven't seen too much of Rodriguez. I started a post maybe a year ago asking about him as he had fought a fairly tough string of opponents but Ward is special. Like Mayweather he out-thinks his opponents before the other guy knows what he's doing.

Hopefully we'll see him fight 3/4 times next year & I really hope one of them is a rematch with Froch in the UK.
