Vazquez Jr isn't much good. Actually having to mention him just further proves Max's point.

WV2 holds a current WBO belt and was born and lives in PR weather you like it or not and then we have Garcia.
That's not a world title bro... it's a minor or regional title.

That's not a ****ing world title! That's like saying the 7th contender for the actual WBO World Championship title, who holds a small regional title which will get him into a title shot one day, is a world champion. He's not, and it's not. He's just a contender that holds what amounts to nothing in reality. It's not a world title. It's just a regional BS belt. It's similar to, but not as worthy, as an Interim title (which is laughable in itself).

It's like saying the IBO title is a proper world championship belt. ****, it's like saying Vanes' Silver World Interim IBO Jr Middleweight NABO Semi Pro International POS is a real world title.

Both the Garcia's are American. One has Puerto Rican blood and one Mexican. If you were born and raised in America, you're American. If these two aren't American, then America has zero champions unless there is a Native American champion I don't know about. I also feel it's ok for the people of their nationality to claim them. Like someone said earlier "how can you tell a Mexican with Mexican blood running through their body they're not mexican?"

But for you Puerto Ricans claiming Danny I guarantee if he fought a up and former olympian from the island, you'd be rooting against Danny. And claiming Vasquez Jr is a REAL champion is comical.

Definitely!!!!...deep down the Brits know it as well...in Jamaica they've always referred to LL as a yard man!!

Swift is a Rican who was born and raised in Philly....just because he was conceived and raised in Philly doesn't take away from his right to be known as a Rican.....geography and DNA are not the same

This has to be the most ******est **** ive ever heard. He is rican its just that he wasn't born in the island and represents U.S.A.

I can't remember when Puerto Rican boxing has ever looked worse. Usually if you don't have champions you at least have up and coming prospects and the Puerto Ricans don't even have prospects! Other than Jayson Velez and Verdejo, who is at least 2 years away from a title shot.
PR really needs to step it up. Cotto will soon retire, Cintron/Juanma are faded, and Martinez/Vasquez Jr./Cruz have hit their ceiling. That will leave Dulorme/Velez/Del Valle/Gonzalez/Verdejo to pick up the slack.

i've got no issues with anybody repping anybody, but danny was born in Philadelphia, and speaks no spanish at all.

he's an american of PR lineage.

genetically he is PR, but he learned to box here, and has an american style.

PR guys usually have a distinct style, with a lot of circling on the toes and ball of the feet. danny steps to the side, and is flat footed most of the time. very different styles.
