Right.....if Martinez is 85% of what he was mobility-wise, he would put a hurting on Golovkin. It would take some time but dude's face would be a scrap heap by round 6 or there abouts. He might not go down but there would be blood EVERYWHERE.

no surprises here. martinez needs a tune up / easy fight, and HBO doesn't want to pay for it.

canelo and cotto are probably going to fight. schaeffer floated out a 10 million offer for cotto into the media.

It was a one time thing as favor to Sergio for him to sign that exclusive agreement with HBO. Ratings for fights outside of the US suffer and there's a lot of added expense to travel (like bringing their HD truck over) And pretty much everything HBO feared about going to Argentina to film in an open stadium went wrong so it's not likely they'll do it again.

Everyone wants to "see how much he has left in the tank"......just ****** for passing it up......it would do well over a million views.

unless cotto rejects gbp offer,HBO is taking a stance against martinez fight ggg or nobody.

So HBO paid $3 mil for Cotto vs Rodriguez and got nothing out of it? Wow.

HBO is dumb! Martinez fights are always exciting, and Rubio is a fighter who always gives his all. Bad move IMO, this is the Midddle weight king (at least for now) oh well good measuring stick to see where Sergio is at.

Geez, no kidding man. Having that fight outside in a freaking mini-hurricane was a terrible idea.

During Martinez's tight decision win over Murray, HBO drew 696,000 viewers..
                      http://******.craveonline.com/blog/1...boxing-ratings

HBO isn't going to pay big money for another south American rating disaster tune-up.

I say good job on HBO here, fuck paying for tune ups.
