hard to gauge his talent when his division sucks

He looks like he can be great but we'll never know until he faces elite guys....their aren't any in his division.....we'll know how good he is if he ever fights Canelo, FROCH, Groves, Degale, etc....there is no elite top 100 p4p talent in that division

there are so many fighters through out history that looked like ATG until they faced some one just as talented, and im sure you don't think he has faced some one as talented as he is.....is that his fault....yes and no....he can move up or force Cotto to fight him or vacate....Middleweight is arguably the worst division in boxing....John Mugabi, Gerald McClellan, Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn, Iran Barkely, Julian Jackson, Bennie Briscoe, would be icing these guys too that Golovkin is fighting....they are not very good
Why is John Mugabi so special? I mean he was a good fighter, fun to watch but what made him a special MW? His career leading up to Hagler was as JMW. He didn't beat anyone special either. His biggest win - Hargrove? Journeyman with pumped up record.

McClellan, look the goods, passed the eye test (that you don't like to use), but other than his win over an old Mugabi and 2 wins over Jackson, his career was filled with low-level opponents. Tragedy his career ended before he really got to test himself but it did.

If you wanted to put down the current MW division, you could've named some really good MW's that fought in the same era (and against one another!) like Toney, Nunn, R.Johnson, Kalambay, and McCallum.

Rigondeaux over Kovalev or Pacquiao or Alvarez? That seems more subjective than anything.

Also it was 6 top 10 contenders (per Ring): Geale, Macklin, Murray, Rubio, Proksa, and Stevens.

those 6 top ten contenders are wholly average and nothing to right home about.....who was the best he beat? Geale or Murray......in 15 fights Rigondeaux has defeated more champions and title holders than ggg and is unified champ

If Rigondeaux were the same size, GGG, Canelo, Pacquaio and Alvarez they would get his ears boxed off IMO

IMO Estrada would beat them too...that's why its called pound for pound

Francisco has defeated everyone he has been in the ring with outside of Chocolatito Gonzalez....former champs and titlists Juan Carlos Sánchez, Jr., Brian Viloria, and Giovanni Segura...he also gave the best fighter in the world under 30 his toughest fight....GGG is in a crappy division

unlike GGG, CANELO, Kovalev and Pacquaio he is the ring champion and also a unified champion.....his biggest win also trumps theirs....Nonito Donaire was considered a top 3 p4p guy in most peoples eyes

Pac fans will say Bradley was but I never rated him in the top 5 p4p

2)Andre Ward(he is still the second best fighter overall in the game, yes he has been inactive but his resume surpasses a lot of others and he is still fresh and young, he'll come back strong)
        3)Wladimir Klitschko
        4)Roman Gonzalez
        5) Guillermo Riogondeaux
        6)Juan Francisco Estrada
        7)Sergey Kovalev
        8)Manny Pacquaio
        9)Canelo Alvarez
        10)Terrence Crawford

I don't look at all the ko's and the WBA trinket....he didn't beat anyone worth much for the title, never beat a champion for a title, has only faced and defeated 4 top ten contenders in almost 35 fights.....his level of competition for his age, skill set, and hype leaves much to be desired....he could be in Crawford's tenth spot, but Crawford has won titles the WBO titles at 135 and 140, was ring champion at lightweight
You say GGG hasn't done enough but Crawford has? Crawford was in the weakest division in all of boxing one fight ago. You can say 160 is weak all you want, but 135 is truly the weakest division in all of boxing (it has been for a few years now). Then he moved up to fight the legendary fighter and atg Thomas freaking Dulorme, haha. GGG has fought more top 10 fighters (in their division) than Crawford and has beaten them all more convincingly than Crawford has with his.

I'm not saying GGG is the best fighter in the world, but GGG has definitely done more than Crawford. But at the end of the day, that's your list and all lists are subjective.

He went on a 25 fight ko streak fighting similar competition and once he stepped up....he lost. I think the Hagler fight took his punch resistance and his true prime away but he was dominating average guys until he had to face McClellan, Norris, NUNN...guys on his talent level or higher

big time punchers always get overrated.

My point is....it wouldn't take someone to be as good as Nunn or Toney to dominate today's middleweights.....guys below them like R JOHNSON and Mugabi could dominate todays guys at the weight

Crawford has almost ten less fights and is the more versatile fighter, is a two division title holder, one being lineal

He is actual near or in his prime and has room to grow where as GGG is what he is gonna be at this point....he is 33+

If they were the same size I'd pick Crawford to win...he is more versatile and has killer instinct when he needs it

He is just flat out a better fighter to me than GGG

Damn, your bu!!***** never ends. Weather you're threatening other posters here, calling every fighter you don't like pokey and bosh, trying to welch on your wagers or claiming that a fighter with ZERO quality win is P4P #1 and the face of boxing, you are rightfully viewed as the biggest buffoon on NSB

If they were the same size naturally I would easily pick GGG by KO no hesitation. Crawford is the guy that was rocked by a small Gamboa, GGG would knock him out, but guess what we will never find out. But like I said it's your opinion, just like it's mine.
The reason people say 140-154 are the "best" divisions in boxing is because it's where American fighters dominate. Any weight where there is no American threat is considered a weak division.
