Ruslan is the type of guy that will go for broke, a la castillo. You need that against Mayweather. All these other guys... Robert, Cotto, Mosley, Canelo... tried to box him. laughable.

That makes no sense at all, trying to break someone at their strongest point. You should try to exploit weakness not play into your opponent's strengths.

Having said all that, Provodnikov brings the best out of May, and unless May ages overnight, May still wins by dec.

      Great fight though
Cotto clearly won more rounds than the other 3 put together. Those fights aren't comparable.

            a bully?

floyd is good at deflecting his opponent's aggression when fighting inside with his counters and shoulder roll but he's not a bully. a bully brings the fight to his opponent until he finds his way inside...floyd is simply not that kind of a fighter.

Undoubtedly... But Ruslan's ability to walk through punches and go for broke will make the fight more interesting.

Cotto did his thing but he's not the most durable of fighters. I named those fighters because none of their gameplans consisted of constant pressure.. And if it did they didn't have the chin to walk through shots...they lowered their workrate, threw less, got cautious ect.. Now look at the Chavez and Castillo fights. They were not deterred by punches. In fact, if I remember correctly, Floyd even broke his hand on Chavez, and Chavez kept coming. It will take that kind of fighter, only bigger and stronger, to beat Floyd.

Floyd isn't really a "bullier" in the inside.

He's quite strong but his strength is overrated since the Mosley fight.

He was getting completely outmuscled by Cotto when it went to the inside.

I think when most talk about Floyd's physical strength, they have in mind what he's able to do at 147. I think he'll always be at a strength disadvantage at 154.

Cotto was more impressive, but he only won the rounds more convincingly. Your statement is incorrect.

And Ortiz was more impressive than Cotto, Canelo or Guerrero combined...

Mayweather don't want that rematch, Ortiz was walking him down.

Doesn't matter though... Robert was lost in mid and long range.. and his strongest asset was nullified rather easily...
You described canelo. Y'all keep underrating ghosts performance against Floyd. While he was outclassed, he saw what he needed to do and did, Floyd's just too many steps ahead of the competition
