Its always refreshing to hear people whine that Arum doesnt know what he is doing or doesnt put on good fights. And by refreshing I mean ******.

He will make more money fighting Cotto and if he wins he'll move on to bigger paydays. beating GGG isn't going to do much for him because GGG isn't really known to your average boxing fan, Cotto is.

        That's the thing. It's not.

That's why I came up with my hypothetical.

There's a reason why Sergio doesn't want GGG, and it's not because he's scared. It's because he knows he's gonna be in the toughest fight of his life, and who wouldn't want their biggest pay day, knowing the situation.

          Exactly what I'm saying.

The only way to fix that, is to go through with the outline in the OP.

Don't be dense. I'm talking about the position Sergio's in now, where he's somewhat in the driver's seat, negotiation wise.

              Manny/Bradley/JMM?
              GGG/Martinez
              Ward/?

              That's a solid 1.5 + card, right there.

Give Sergio and GGG a % of the PPV cut, and give them a base pay of 2-3 mil, Sergio. 1mil, GGG.
That's not how Top Rank/Arum works. Also why would Martinez fight GGG when he can get a bigger pay day vs someone easier like Miguel Cotto? Martinez has been getting injured a lot lately and everyone still considers him the middleweight king until he loses. I can't really see him fighting GGG but if he does props to him. Much respect

How many extra PPVs did having Danny Garcia and Lucas Matthysse on that undercard really sell? Probably not a lot. There's not too many people (maybe some hardcore fans) who said to themselves, Mayweather vs Canelo is a **** fight and I'm not gonna buy it unless the undercard is good. Your average casual fan thought Canelo was a beast, a lot of people here did too. Matthysse-Garcia was a bonus for us.

How much did those guys make for that fight? Matthysse I think made around 600k, can't remember what Danny made but it was probably double that amount. But chances are those guys could have made the same or better money if they had made it a main event fight of their own.

GGG and Martinez could make their own PPV and probably do Bradley-Marquez numbers of around 300k buys. They'd both make more money than they would on a Manny undercard.
Who's funding that PPV? You really think Sergio and GGG are big enough for HBO to sign off on a PPV???

                I highly doubt it.

JMM had to KO Manny, and Bradley had to become famous for robbing Manny to headline their PPV together.

So, come up with a better idea.

You really think Sergio's fighting GGG on HBO championship boxing?

                  Or Boxing after dark? JK.

Not getting you? 70-30 in favour of Golovkin or Maravilla? You have news of an actual offer? A source?

                    Which others wouldn't accept it?

Macklin and Stevens got almost as much as GGG and he's the champ. If anything he's getting underpaid just so HBO/K2 can afford to get guys in the ring to fight him.

As far as im concerned, GGG Vs Martinez is PPV quality itself, Garcia Vs Matthyse was a GREAT fight and matchup, but GGG Vs Martinez is to solve, who's the MW champ of the world.

Garcia Vs Mattylse was not PPV quality.
Besides GGG Vs Martinez is a BIGGER matchup than any fight that Manny Pacquiao could have other than Manny Vs Mayweather, so Manny would be on the undercard.
