Since Sergio wants pay days now.....

Why not have Martinez/GGG on the undercard of a Manny fight?

Just like they did with Danny/Matthysse.

    Manny/Bradley/JMM?
    GGG/Martinez
    Ward/?

    That's a solid 1.5 + card, right there.

Give Sergio and GGG a % of the PPV cut, and give them a base pay of 2-3 mil, Sergio. 1mil, GGG.

Because that is not how Arum does it, he doesn't believe an undercard matters in terms of selling a fight so it loathe to put money into them.

I don't think Arum would think the cost/benefit is worth it.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but I'm sure a financial analyst will sit down with him, and show him why it would be worth it.

Not to mention, he's gotta keep up with the Jones'(Showtime/GBP).

I don't think anyone can tell Arum shit when it comes to putting on a boxing event.

He would think about it like this if he puts on a good main event the boxer fans will buy so why put on another fight fan fight that is pricey to get fans he already thinks he will get.

Now the one exception would be putting on a fight that taps into an ethnic fan base (Mexicans) but even there he would more likely find some dudes that will put on a good scrap on the cheap, when he can make the pricier fight a different event and sell to a network.

Plus he likes to showcase his guys in fights they will look good in because most fans don't know the difference as long as the guy has a glossy record.

Ward? GGG? Martinez? That's 3 different promoters. He's done some work with DiBella (Martinez's promoter) recently. But Goosen (Ward) and K2 (GGG)?

I get all that, but he's gotta do something to keep it fresh. Yeah, you can't tell him ****, but if his bottom line starts to get effected......

He is a businessman, after all.

Bottom line is that Sergio won't accept the 70-30 cut that Govolkin offered him. And then everyone will say Martinez ducked Golovkin like all the others that wouldn't accept it.

Its a hypothetical. I'm just laying out an outline.

Obviously Martinez doesn't see the gain in fighting GGG, since the pay day wouldn't warrant it, but if you did something like this, it could happen.

Besides. It's called TR PPV, with a giant logo of HBO plastered all over it.

GGG/Martinez/Ward are all HBO fighters. HBO has juice.

                  Edit to my other post.

Its called HBO PPV. Not TR PPV.

                  They'll work something out.

Arum doesn't do it because he knows certain idiots will buy the Manny fight, even with a **** undercard, so he's not going to add a Martinez/GGG fight. He's one of these old school scumbags. A dinosaur trying to hold on to any relevancy he may have left.
