Arum is pretty consistent, if we were talking Mexican fighters he would possibly do it or if one was Mexican and one was Puerto Rican but Arum is a big believer in why have one event with one gate/other revenue when you can make two events with two gates/other revenue.

It would take a long time of poor bottom line results to convince him otherwise and he is an old man so I don't think thee is time for a stubborn guy like him to change.

It is the Arum way, it is what it is but I will say sometime the fights turn out decent just they usually don't mean much.

      Yeah, basically, Arum sucks.

But, still. I think that's the only way to make the GGG/Martinez fight in the foreseeable future.

Arum's business model works fine. He doesn't need to stack his big events with quality undercards because the fact of the matter is, the main event is what people pay for.

Stacked under cards is what UFC does because the UFC headliners need good costars to help them sell the event. Also, people who watch UFC pay to watch UFC and not so much the headliners.

And to their credit, Top Rank is with the times. They are expanding into the Chinese market and doing new things and taking new risks as far as PPV delivery is concerned.

Pacquiao vs Rios, with an undercard starring China's two time gold medalist available for tablet and Mobile phone PPV streaming for only 5 bucks in the most populated country on the planet, plus the standard western PPV market has the potential to break whatever record was set by Mayweather and Canelo.

              Manny/Bradley/JMM?
              GGG/Martinez
              Ward/?

              That's a solid 1.5 + card, right there.

Give Sergio and GGG a % of the PPV cut, and give them a base pay of 2-3 mil, Sergio. 1mil, GGG.

your logic doesn't make sense being that Sergio Martinez made 1.4 million to fight chavez jr on ppv as the main event. aint no way he gon make more than that on an undercard of a pacquiao fight. what golden boy did with Garcia vs matthysse was a one time thing, paying both undercard fighter a million dollar purse. Richard scheafer said it was the most expensive undercard fight in history. aint no way arum is gonna do something like that.

plus Martinez vs golovkin is ppv worthy on its own, especially if Martinez beats cotto

Undercard fighters don't make much and they don't draw much either.

How many extra PPVs did having Danny Garcia and Lucas Matthysse on that undercard really sell? Probably not a lot. There's not too many people (maybe some hardcore fans) who said to themselves, Mayweather vs Canelo is a **** fight and I'm not gonna buy it unless the undercard is good. Your average casual fan thought Canelo was a beast, a lot of people here did too. Matthysse-Garcia was a bonus for us.

How much did those guys make for that fight? Matthysse I think made around 600k, can't remember what Danny made but it was probably double that amount. But chances are those guys could have made the same or better money if they had made it a main event fight of their own.

GGG and Martinez could make their own PPV and probably do Bradley-Marquez numbers of around 300k buys. They'd both make more money than they would on a Manny undercard.

Golden Boy is stacking up their shows because they have only so many TV dates and a lot of fighters to slot in. It's great for the fans, but in an ideal world they would rather put all those guys into successful main events.
