No one there to beat him, clearly the best right now.
After watching GGG against Stevens..

He's got a nice engine, a good chin and a good variety of punches. Seems to be vulnerable to speed. He blocked a lot of punches from stevens with his shoulder, against murray that won't work so well, on account of Murray being taller than stevens.
Murray aslo has that high guard and a good punch.. I view him as more durable than stevens..
To me, Murray is the best fight out there for GGG. Gotta favor GGG in it but Murray is a solid underdogComment

Stevens may or may not have won any rounds but from the way the fight was looking pre-fight, we knew we wasn't really looking at a boxing match. The bout was hyped up to be a slugging match and Stevens as someone with mighty power, so the fight was mainly looking at if GGG has a chin.
In the fight he took some mean shots that seem to rattle him for a moment, and when Stevens will throw combos after connecting GGG will look like a deer in front of headlights. Dude's boxing game and skill isn't as how many here trying to hype it to be. GGG showed enough flaws in this fight to look like a good exciting blood and guts brawler but not an ATG.
I seen no boxing in this fight.. I see you know all 'bout crack/******* tho. Get your boxing knowledge up then you can chill with the grown ups.
I agree Huey the match making is very smart, as well as the promotional work. HBO kinds of looks like a second rate boxing channel now, kind of how Showtime use to be. Had some good fights but not the names you really want to see, just see them when the better channel isn't showing fights. They are doing a hell of a job in the match making for GGG.
The hype will keep building until they match him up with a counter puncher with good speed or some who can match him in the power department.
I like GGG and hope he improves his skills cause he can't fight going backwards at all...but I doubt that will change.
Yeah he is hopeless on fighting from the back foot it seems. He has to reset every time if he can't move forward. He literally will be dumbfounded..
GGG may have out landed Stevens by 200 punches but he got hit with some stuff too. Things that could had been avoided but he got clipped easy peezy. It also looks like he doesn't know what to when he get hit like he had a brain freeze then go restart his whole rhythm. If Stevens threw as much as buddy I'm sure he would had stopped him too. GGG got wobble plenty of times in this fight and he only threw 90 something punches.Lmao, trolls gonna troll. People on here are crazy!
Golovkin did get exposed : As having a granite chin...
Inb4 he moved back ans got wobbled .... Isn't that what was supposed to happen? If Golovkin is legit, wasn't he supposed to take the powerful left hook of Curtis and react the way he did and win the fight?
Golovkin outlanded Stevns 293-93 and won almost every round, got his chin checked.... And he had a bad fight? Jeez some people are ridiculous here .. All you keyboard warriors are ignoring the fact that Stevens, and rosado.... Both when they felt the power of Golovkin, went into survival mode to merely try and survive! They never fight like that In any other fights so that right there tell you something about the respect people who, you know, step in the ring with Golovkin, have for him. Hell Stevens was even criticizing Macklin for trying to survive , and he dd the same thing !
Sorry guys, GGG ain't going anywhere, deal with it
His defense is very good at parrying punches off his face. Him resetting shows that he isn't very adept at adapting in the ring. Also his choice of standing at bad angles is why he got clipped, he also was leaning in sometimes. He's just a big slower Manny Pacquiao..Getting beat for 20-30 seconds out of a round doesn't mean you lose the round. As you said - he resets and then wins the next encounter. His D isn't as good as Mayweather but it's very good at parrying punches and can do so even when focused on taking the other guy out. (Take a look at the last minute of the Stevens fight to see a beautiful example.
Now - saying his use of angles is poor -- I don't know dude. I think he's great at using angles to set up his offense.
What skills? Getting socked?Comment

Do you think he neglects his defense? I think maybe he just felt Stevens was done after round 2 and he could take anything he threw.I agree. For GGG having so much experience (amateur, Olympics, and the pros) he makes so many mistakes and shows so many vulnerabilities. I get that he's an offensive minded fighter, but that doesn't mean he needs to totally neglect his defense because he feels he can bully any opponent. He's gonna pay the price for it one day.Comment
