Washington Times starts an article like this: "Stevens showed speed and managed to hit Golovkin several times hard enough to make “Triple G” cautious about coming in too close."
Then, Stevens hit "several times", GGG got so cautious that floored Stevens in the second round... And afterwards Golovkin had a good sparring until team Stevens decided they had enough (just like in the Rosado fight).

Here's the punch stats of the fight last night:
Golovkin landed triple the punches Stevens did; 293 of 794 for Golovkin, 97 of 303 punches for Stevens (therefore Golovkin threw almost 100 punches per round!). Golovkin delivered 58 body shots versus 20 for Stevens; 235 punches to the head by Golovkin versus 77 for Stevens.

I don't understand what Stevens "did well" actually -- unless people give him props after he did get up from the vicious knock down and somehow continued...

What Stevens did well was that after the knock down he got up & not only took good hard shots to the body & head(some looked harder than the 2 that knocked him down) but blocked & made Golovkin miss a few & the times he fought back many of the shots he landed were good & hard that even stopped Golovkin on his tracks & made Golovkin think & fight more cautiously(I haven't seen anyone do that to Golovkin before).. Even thou Stevens didn't throw as much, he did show better skills many gave him credit for & he was game & tried to weather the storm but Golovkin was just relentless & kept on comming & swinging hard shots..

On another note, Golovkin's gloves looked like they were about half the size of Stevens' gloves. I think there may be something to the rumors about Golovkin obtaining an unfair advantage with the gloves.

I think the Gloves only looked smaller because they had another color. Color always makes a big difference. LOL......

Golovkin did what he had to do, take Stevens out! But it wasn't that easy cause Stevens turned to be better than what many expected & was game. Stevens is not Martinez nor Quillin, but he ain't no slouch either & he could **** & at times caught Golovkin with some good heavy shots, but Golovkin took then well..Martinez is still recovering from surgery(on his knee & I think his left hand)& according to his people won't be back till the beginning of summer, so Golovkin should try to unify against Quillin(& vice versa since both want Martinez) & the winner could go against Martinez..

GG beat up on a handpicked midget last nite, and got exposed in the process. An elite level boxer such as Cotto will cause big problems for GG. Floyd has admitted to hand picking his opponents his whole career, laughs about it going to the bank. He admitted as much. Floyd wants to talk about being the best, the greatest, he's "0".... but he never would hav had a chance with Ray Leonard, or Tommy Hearns, or never would have had the ballz to go fight Hagler. SO I said, Floyd isn't credible to me as a legend of the sport by manufacturing an undefeated record. Ray Leonard and Hearns went all the way to Light Heavyweight looking for challenges. Leonard came out of a 5 year retirement, NO tune up fight, to fight Marvin Hagler; nobody including FLOYD has the ballz to do that! Hearns and Hagler had the most epic 3 round brawl we've ever seen. Gennday will probably call Ward out himself! He has no problem fighting anyone. He's not picky. Nobody wanted to fight Stevens. Sergio Martinez even said, "Gennady needs to go deal with Stevens then we'll talk"... I guess it's time to talk. So I'm just pretty tired reading for months what a killer Stevens is, and now he's a journeyman, he exposed something in GGG, he's too short, and NOW Quillin is the man, then it'll be somebody else.

AND Pacquiao walks thru and destroys Rios faster than the beatdown Provodnikov gave Alvarado. Rios and Alvarado's only claim to fame is that they beat each other. They fought nobody and beat nobody else credible. Rios and Alvarado are B-level fighters at best.
