I don't know I'd be speechless ..... I don't see this happen at least with stevens.
If Stevens wins....

I don't know about it not meaning that much. Even American media has really taken interest to him. If you look at espn for example they are writing that GGG just needs that big name, or earlier this week on Jim Rome, claiming he's the most dangerous man in the sport. GGG's name is starting to become a force that's why I feel it would be such a crazy upset.Comment

It would mean one of two things:
1. Golovkin's chin is a serious issue that will probably hold him back.
2. Stevens is legit.
I hope he doesn't lose. With Sergio on the way out, middleweight needs someone to take his place. No one else in the division is capable of taking that spot. Golovkin can be a big star if he's the truth, and boxing can always use another big star.Comment

it all depends HOW he loses. But if he loses by decision it would be far worse in my opinion than being KO'd as it would expose the fact that Golovkin can't box for **** and is just a 1 dimensional ****erI'm somewhat laughing at that statement but if somehow he were to score the victory, what happens to this division? To me it would be the biggest upset in quite sometime since most think GGG is the number 1 fighter in this division. Does Stevens become the man? How far does GGG fall in the eyes of the fans? What would be your feelings?Comment

It would be a really big upset, but Golovkin is not that proven that it would be an outrageously big upset. I would be stunned or maybe flabbergasted would be a better word but Golovkin hasn't done much other than look the part.
Stevens would get a big bump in his career but he wouldn't be the man because a lot of people would write off Golovkin if that happened, Steven would have a lot more work to do.
Golovkin would fall hard though~ especially because if he loses it has to be by a big punch and it is hard to write off a loss like that even by the most ardent fan.
No way Stevens wins though, I had to think about It's a Small World just to come up with the amount of imagination needed to even think about the question.Comment

First of all Stevens needs to beat Sergio Martinez to be the man at MW.
Back to this topic. It would obviously be a big upset but it also depends on how Curtis wins. If Curtis lands a big left hook out of nowhere and knocks out GGG in the first round I wouldn't call him exposed and right him off. Anyone can get KO'd when they are up against a big puncher.
Now if Curtis beats him to the punch over and over again, if he's is able to outbox GGG and is clearly the better boxer and wins a UD or stops him late leading on the scorecards. Now that would be horrible for GGG and he should be consider to be the biggest hype job in boxing in quite some time. I can't see this outcome though.

The thing is, there's no way that Stevens would suddenly be considered #1, it'd put his name right in the mix, but the question marks on his record would still remain. It's even possible, though unlikely that it might make Golovkin seem like a more managable option for some of the other top 10s, though it'd undoubtedly be a huge set-back.It would mean one of two things:
1. Golovkin's chin is a serious issue that will probably hold him back.
2. Stevens is legit.

Partly it would depend on the manner of Curtis' victory. A flash KO specially if ggg was caught cold might be easier to recover from careerwise, but if Golovkin got ****** into a battle of attrition and lost, it would probably fall under the category of an 'exposure' - a word I'm loathe to use regarding any fighter.Comment

Hes unproven as of right now. Hes a media creation being fed bums and being forced.
Everybody is pushing him. Peoples expectations are too high and most can't form their own opinion they're just echoing. Kellerman says this guys a savage & this and that and people run with it.
I don't care if he has 350 amateur wins, Stevens has 250 himself!
Would I be shocked? Not really. I think GGG stops him early-mid but I am not sold on him and think Stevens has a punchers chance early on.
Stevens has a lot of experience, hes fought at a higher level. Hes got decent handspeed, good timing, a destructive left hook. Its possible he could catch GGG with something who I feel loads up too much at times and has a lot of defensive holes. I give Stevens a punchers chance.Comment
