Manny Pacquiao vs Brandon Rios Prediction and Discussion Master Thread

Watching the vid of him shadowboxing... he definitely got slower

I'm surprised at how many people are picking Manny by knockout. Maybe by Margarito-style stoppage from punishment, but I don't see Pacquiao decking Brandon out.

After getting KO'd himself, Manny has something to prove to everyone- that he's back in a big way. The best way for him to do that is KO Rios. Rios is durable, but Alvarado hurt him. Manny can KO him, and I think he'll certainly try.

First of all I'm not a PAC hater, I've only picked against him 3 times in his career vs. Morales 1&2 and the DLH fight. I know I will take ***** for this but I like rios in this fight, I think his constant pressure will be too much for PAC to handle and he breaks PAC down, I also see Rios wining several exchanges and KOing PAC in the later rounds.

Current record betting against PAC is 1W 2L, but I think I get back to 500 after Rios wins.

I'm trying to think of ways that Rios can win this fight. He has power and a pretty good chin, but he's limited. He has one style and it is not the kind of style it will take to beat Pacquiao.

The Rios-Alvarado fights are pretty good examples of what this guy is capable of. He's fairly rugged and he can make you pay. He does not lack heart and likes to brawl.

There are a couple of things that stand out as flaws in Brandon's game that I think will hurt him in this fight. First he lacks speed, and second he's far too easy to hit. Pacquiao is going to land, and land often. I do believe that initially Rios will survive the assault and perhaps land some significant shots of his own but he will just be delaying the inevitable. By the mid rounds Manny will start chipping away at his face and it could get ugly. I also think that Rios will gain a lot of respect for taking a beating from one of the best, but it will get stopped before the final bell either because of cuts or because Manny finally knocks him out.
