I have no idea why people found Rigo-Donaire boring. I thought it was one of the most thrilling fights in years. Kept me on the edge of my seat the entire match. Also, Donaire gets booed in all his fights because he is a headhunter. Donaire is not an exciting fighter.

I wouldn't go that far, but I certainly enjoyed the fight. I would say it was an 8/10 in terms of entertainment value. At least for hardcore boxing fans.

I appreciate a lot of Donaire fans sticking up for Rigo. Looks like they have learned to appreciate the guy. But it seems to me like richard aka **** is still bitter. Why is it crazy to say both guys were being boo'ed? Posted from Boxingscene.com App for Android

I have never once been bitter and I stood up and explained why it was not correct for people to think that Donaire could land that big punch against Rigo just because Rigo was hurt by Merroquin so you must have been sleeping on the job when I explained that it is outrageous for people to think that it is a given that Donaire would land the one big one when each fight has a different set of dynamics and I also had the fight a 50/50 pick which you were also asleep on the job and failed to see.

WHO said it is crazy to say that both guys were booed????? I said it comes down to perspective and Donaire is perceived as being more exciting....whether that is right, wrong, it is still the perception of many and that is just how it is. I also said THREE times here that I appreciate Rigo's skills and if I owned HBO, I would have brought him back after his big win...DID YOU NOT READ WHERE I SAID THIS TODAY??????????? Gotcha. The thing is, these Arum's statements are read by an insignificant number of people, only hard core fans. The casual viewer goes with what they see in the ring, though a big hype machine can help get them tuning in. The comments were clearly directed at Rigo, who's a prideful character: won't move up, won't alter style, want big money, wants 12 week camp. He's got lots of reasons for pride, but he also has a lot working against him, so gotta be a bit flexible

No doubt. Rigo's got a lot of pride. Seems like the kind of guy to cut off his nose to spite his face. On the other hand, I hate to see Guillermo's style manipulated this way.

Just like how Arum you feed Pacquiao Mexican Fighters so he can look impressive and score Knockouts because you know that is a style he looks good against...well feel Rigondeaux pressure fighters and guys who will pressure him relentlessly so he can counter the hell out of them

Watching him dismantle Teon Kennedy, Rico Ramos and Willie Casey was entertaining for me at least and watching him pick apart what was suppose to be a Top 5 P4P fighter was entertaining to me as well

Sad what HBO and Top Rank is trying to turn boxing into, what do they go off and make their own League like the UFC and put in their Own Rules that way they can get the fights they want instead of trying to change something that been here and been established long before them

What's not friendly about Rigo? Love Donaire, but Rigo trounced him aside from that hard-earned knock down. In round 12, he closed Donaire's eye and was about as close to hurting Donaire seriously as anybody. You know what, forget Bob Arum because not everyone's a Provodnikov.
