The fight was stopped at the correct time. Mike had nothing left. I still consider Alvarado one of the toughest guys out there. He has a lot of heart. It was just Ruslan's night.

I dont blame him for checking out but let's not act as if he does this for "our entertainment". He does it for a paycheck.

LMAO at some of these responses.

Had Alvarado been Rican this forum would be borderline spammed with threads titled "quitter" "pocho" and every name other than warrior.

But he's Mexican decent and thus he gets a pass because after all now he has taken "too much punishment."

I love double standards especially when they are painfully obvious for those who choose to be oblivious to the facts at hand.

He shook his head indicating no, while saying no when asked do you want to continue? Weeks asked him 3 times just to be safe...kind of hard to get a mixed message after 2 additional confirmations.

No way man, Weeks was speaking directly to Alvarado, he personally indicated to Weeks that he didn't want to continue. Alvarado didn't complain one bit when the fight was stopped.

Ruslan broke his will. Ruslan made him quit. I loved when they had the shot of Tony telling Alvarado's corner to gtfo and asked Alvarado personally if he wanted to quit. It don't get no realer than that.

i dont think he wanted to continue. either way the fight should have been stopped. he was losing on the cards, taking a tremendous amount of punishment and didnt have enough left in the tank to get ruslan out of there or even keep him off him.

alvarado was literally barely unconscious on the stool. he didn't get up for several minutes after the fight was waved off.

his corner should have stopped the fight. mike shouldn't have to "quit" in that situation.

alvarado is the definition of a warrior. there's no quit in him. he could hardly open his eyes from the head trauma, nevermind his swelling on his right eye. when you're that badly hurt your body shuts down and says "OK, we need a break right now, or this will kill you."

great fight. if alvarado keeps fighting he's got my support. if he wants to hang his gloves up that is OK too. he's made a lot of money, and taken a lot of punishment. he's still relatively young, so i expect a comeback fight or two, and then another shot at a world title.

Nothing shameful about throwing in the towel himself, he fought a hard tough fight and had nothing left. He has heart and brains.

If Alvarado had a corner that cared about his well being they would've stopped the fight in the corner and saved Mike from any more punishment and from being labeled a quiter
