...so will a lot of fans now label Alvarado a quitter??? BTW Mike felt he was winning the fight...Do y'all agree??
Referee Tony Weeks tried to engage Alvarado in the corner before the 11th.
"I asked Mike two to three times, 'Do you want to continue?' " Weeks said. "And Mike said each time, 'No.' "
So Weeks stopped the fight for a TKO on the chair before the start of the 11th.
Alvarado disputed the turn of events, saying afterward: "I have a lot of heart. I'm not a quitter. (My manager) stopped the fight. And it was the right decision."
Alvarado added: "I felt I had the fight going my way. I was boxing him like I wanted to. But I took some shots. I'm used to taking shots and recovering. That was the hardest puncher I've ever faced."
"There's no excuse. I was winning that fight," Alvarado said in a somber dressing room after the fight, surrounded by his family
