Castillo, De La Hoya, and Cotto came the closest. Like most people I thought Castillo won the first fight 115-111 (w/ the point deductions on both guys) and though Floyd won the second fights it was pretty competitive. Zab Judah did a great job boxing Floyd in the first 4 rounds (even knocking him down), but as is so often the case with him he turned off the gas in the second half. Augustus put up a fun fight, hurting Floyd several times, but he was a 22-16-4 guy and really never had chance.
Of all Floyd's ducks, who would have beaten him?

Yeah I think they are the big missing names on Mayweather's record. Younger versions of Mosley and Cotto would have given him trouble too, but not in the same way that Williams and Margarito, two hugely active fighters who'd take one to land one, would have done. I don't think even Floyd's style would have gotten these guys into the 40-punch-a-round zone that most of his opponents fall into.
Williams got outboxed by carlos quintana. Floyd could do the same.
Magarito has never beat anybody. Why would you pick him over floyd?Comment

Everybody who fights Floyd, their punch output drops significantly. No way Margarito throws a 120 punches per round against him.Comment

I haven't seen the Castillo fights so I can't really comment. I honestly don't think De la Hoya was as close as everyone else. During the later rounds Mayweather pulled away decisively. De la Hoya was game though. Cotto surprised everyone in that fight. Zab Judah was never going to beat Mayweather. The only time I've seen a look of concern on Mayweather's face was the Emanuel fight. I would also add Hatton in this too. That fight was closer than most people remember.Castillo, De La Hoya, and Cotto came the closest.
