Ward refuses to participate in VADA testing

Has he refused being tested by all of the testing agencies? I need to know this before I call any fighter suspect. As a Ward fan, I'm pissed that he still is not doing the better testing. My man was all for it and even advocated for it in the past and he has yet to do it! At this day in time, no top fighter should be refusing better and more stringent testing, period. Been waiting for him to do it and he just won't. Again, as a real fan of Andre since he was fighting in the amateurs, I'm upset and there is literally no excuse NOT to test.Comment

there's more to it than simply being clean or dirty, and deciding to take the test accordingly.
for starters, ward's handlers [promotor and manager,] will refuse testing. if you're profiting from the fight, you won't invite anything that can get in the way of that if you don't have to. drug testing is nothing but a possible headache if you manage or promote a fighter. if either guy pops positive, and the fight gets cancelled, you don't get paid. they didn't address any of this in the contract. why entertain it now?
what if ward loses? people will say that he was only winning when he wasn't taking drug tests. that should be obvious enough.
again, i'm not saying that i discount the possibility that ward is using drugs. i have my su****ions about all top fighters, especially on the west coast. i am saying that there's more to refusing a demand for drug testing from edwin rodriguez [after they've already agreed to terms,] than simply being clean or not.Comment

depending on the context, there are several. read my posts. they've outlined them clearly.Comment

What other agencies are there? Why would he want USADA over VADA...you think Ward is going to pony up more than 200K for testing when he won't do VADA which is less?Comment

Whatever is decided in terms of the testing that they agree on, I'll go by that. They are the fighters.
My concern is that when a fighter refuses testing it's like they are guilty. I know that it is just a few fanatics with agendas who accuse fighters of this but now Ward? We don't even have universal testing in this sport for all fighters yet. This fighter can be caught or that fighter, but not all fighters are going through this testing.Last edited by Frank Ducketts; 10-18-2013, 09:04 AM.Comment

I have never trusted Ward and his tattoos. If walks like duck and quacks like a duck then maybe its a duck. That guy is a dirty fighter, headbutt opponents, works with a drug cheat then refuses drug testing. Boxing is **** business.Comment

But it'd be a PR nightmare for a promoter wouldn't it?Comment

so you really just have no point to make about "other testing that was declined" ??Whatever is decided in terms of the testing that they agree on, I'll go by that. They are the fighters.
