I agree with the thread starter;I was considering making a thread similar to this one.Andre Ward not only didn`t fight for a year, but he has the most overrated resume. He beat a mediocre Kessler, mediocre Arthur Abraham,a descent fighter in Carl Froch and a weight drained Chad Dawson. There are fighters out there with far better resumes then Ward. And Ward is also a cherry picker;he avoided Bute,Adons Stevenson, and Anthony Dirrell.

All the top fighters have fought top level opposition this year; While Ward took the easy route by choosing a okay at best opponent. But yet a lot of people still see him ass p4p number 2 smh.

Which one other than Ward doesn't have a legit win since 2011?
One could make the arguement that:

serg hasnt had a quality win, chavez jr was a joke, and murray beat serg

Froch in the past year has a win over old kessler, and yusaf mack

manny hasnt won clearly since sugar shane in 11, but even that was a crap win,

If you you say you dont have ward top 2 because of inactivity, then how do you have him #4....

IMO your list is pretty solid, i would drop serg due to the murray performance as murray isnt a top level elite fighter, manny lost but it was to 2 top level guys like jmm and bradley and i thought he beat bradley and performed great vs jmm till he got put to sleep...

I just dont understand how you can drop ward due to inactivity,, thats fine if you take him off the list but to have him #4 instead of #2 doesnt make any sense,,, His skills haven't gone down, just his activity, and he was injured and had trouble finding an opponent

Every single fighter on the list other than Ward has a win over a Top 5 ranked guy in the divison being fought in other than Andre Ward.

I have Ward at 4 because of his skills, I consider put him lower considering the circumstances.

fair enough,, but i would argue manny doesnt, ko'd by jmm, "beat" by bradley, should have lost the 3rd jmm fight, shane was over the hill,,,

I see your point,, Me personally, ward's inactivity is due to injury and lack of a quality opponents..... Rodriguez is a good opponent, undefeated youngster coming off his biggest win to date,, cant really complain about that

Mikey is missing a lot of big fights at Featherweight, I know he's just trying to add to his legacy with titles, but he needs to fight Mares, John, Gonzalez, Donaire, and even Lomachenko would be good since he might take the title from Salido in his next 2 fights.

Because pound for pound means if everybody was the same size who would kick everybody's ass and nobody would kick Ward's ass.

If you go with that logic then Ward could be ranked no higher then 6 because he would lose to Manny, Mayweather, Marquez, Bradley, and maybe Martinez at least 8 out of 10 times. He's a good fighter but lets not act like he's on the same level as these guys.
