Boxing has changed.

2 boxers in the ring together don't sell tickets and generate ratings. When you make a fight between two pure boxers, they won't make any money, the fight won't attract a lot of fans and one fighter will end up with a loss, a weak payday and a long road to recovery. So its better for their careers if they fight aggressive fighters and look good.

Look at Bradley/Alexander. Big hype, both pure boxers although Bradley is more multi-dimensional, undefeated, tops in the division. However, it didn't sell, the fight was bad and it did more damage to their careers than good.

who cares what the people enjoy. Make the best fights with the best undefeated skilled fighters. No brawlers or sluggers getting all of the attention.

The people you're referring to are the ones who pay to watch the match. Their opinion counts, whether it's fair or not to more skilled fighters who fight in a perceived boring style.

I'm tired of these brawlers swinging like cavemen in the middle of the ring. I want to go back in time when skill, defense and an undefeated record were appreciated. It seems like the only time we can get a good showcase of boxing skills is when Mayweather, Bhop, Ward, Rigo, Broner or Bradley are schooling someone. They only fight once a year or two at most. The rest of the year it's bum fights like Maidana vs Karrass, or Rios vs the latest bum.

I want to see to American technical boxers give a showcase of defense and skill at it's highest point.

What is wrong with entertaining fighters like Froch,GGG,Stevenson, Kovalev,Lucas,Maidana, Rios, Ruslan etc?, they put on great fights. Not every fighter has to be slick and skilled if they were every fight would be the same, a chess match. I don't understand Boxing fans who only like guys like Floyd, Ward and Rigo etc, its like they don't enjoy the drama that Knock downs, guys getting up from Knock downs and showing bravery to survive and knock outs bring.

BTW, a fighter you mentioned called Broner might be getting his ass beat on DEC 14 by that BUM Maidana. Terrible thread.
