Do Wlad's 3 defeats hamper his ATG status?

better then haye? thats easy. a prime undefeated Mercer. spinks, Tim Witherspoon. Randall Cobb. even trevor Berbick. i could go on and on..........I don't agree with it all, but some good points, mate.
You see it's subjective. You don't care for the loses Holyfield suffered but I do. I would rank him MUCH higher if he retired after Tyson.
As for Holmes again it depends how you rank his opposition. I don't really see the fighter which is significantly better than prime Haye. (of course I don't count Ali. I do Norton but it was very very close fight). I don't care he wasn't in his prime when he lost to Spinks he carried on for 15 years after that fight.
Fraizer was amazing fighter, but still I can't put him above Ali or Foreman overall in his generation.Comment

I'm not going to argue too much with this post, other than saying that some fighters are so great that whatever they do, they will always be great. Holyfield was one of those guys. Try and check out his trilogy with Bowe and see how a smaller guy just goes to war. It's remarkable.Well that's why I rate Lennox so high. He knew it when he needed to retire. All those listed above are great no doubt, but they would be even greater if they retire on top. (Manny used to say that a lot, and I agree). Lennox's status is rightfully high because of that among the other things.
Some of those Holmes wins I do rate quite high, but not really higher than Wlad's. Exception is Norton maybe and maaybe Shavers. But I don't think they are much better than Haye/Byrd.
And Wlad didn't only won those fight he really didn't leave any doubt. Norton could have won that fight against Holmes.
If Wlad loses by the time he retires it will affect his status regardless how old is he.
Norton/Shavers are in every way also bigger and harder hitting than Haye/byrd. They were also more established HWs. I'll give Holmes more probs for trying to take them out as opposed to fiddle around with the jab all night (even though Holmes could certainly also do that).Comment

I know those Bowe fights. Amazing. I do rate Holyfiled, but I still think he screwed that up.I'm not going to argue too much with this post, other than saying that some fighters are so great that whatever they do, they will always be great. Wlad is seen too much in light of his last performance. I very much enjoyed his last 3 fights (apart Povetkin).
I enjoyed many his fights. Example is Mercer fight. Yes mercer was old, but it was a beauty.
Anyhow. IMO there is no white and black here. It all comes to personal opinion. I won't argue with yours. It has valid points.
I'll go and try to catch a few hours before Marquez-Bradley.
