Im not madd if floyd fights amir, I mean you cant compare floyd fighting him to cotto fight delvin, cotto lost his last 2 fights where as mayweather should be fighting the best fighters, I wanna see him fight amir, would like to see if he can get a knockout... Just give credit to cotto caus Im sure you didnt think he would win the way he did.
Comments Thread For: Floyd Sr.: Miguel Cotto could have done that without Roach!

What he does not know is that vintage style Cotto COULD give Floyd a surprise and pull the win.Comment

Why are people so mad? He's 100% right. Here's video of it. Delvin already for beat by Austin trout before cotto did

i was comparing the hype they got after their fight you idiot not the quality of opponent. they both fought inferior opponents but floyd for sure got more hype with it because of floyd fanboys like you. you're so obsessed with floyd that you want all the limelight for him.
you hyped floyd's win like crazy but now you don't want to see cotto's fans to hype his win against rodriquez.
and yes, catchweight cheapens everything about the fight. it cheapens the quality of opposition and the quality of win. it cheapened the wins of all fighters who had catchweight before so what makes it different for floyd?
when floyd dragged canelo down to a catchweight, he also lowered canelo's quality as an opponent.Comment

Floyd Sr. is correct, and if I was Cotto I would be a bit annoyed about Roach taking the majority of credit. He beat Rodriguez, not an A level fighter shit not even some B or C level fighter, but Delvin Rodriguez.
Cotto is one of my favourite fighters but if he looked anything less than dominant in this match up, he would have to start thinking about retirement.Comment

Floyd didn't need his dad to fight the way he is fighting now? You mean the man who contributed to his genetics and trained him from birth?

Did you say CWs cheapens Mannys fights ?
Did you say CWs lowered the quality of Mannys opponents ?
Do you realize Margo is bigger than Canelo but was forced to lose twice as much as Canelo had to lose , what did you have to say about that fight .
CWs are a neither here nor there until " after " the fight , then is the only true time you can evaluate a CW , if a fighter is drained by a CW and its easy to see in the fight , then yes it cheapens any fight ; but if it had little effect on the fighter then its a fair win , sometimes it can benefit a fighter, people need to judge the effect of a CW , fanboys just judge CWs depending whos name they are connected to .
I dont like CWs because they add a built in excuse into a fight , the losers will always say it was the CW some are valid some are not , I look at the fight then decide .
And I would have rather seen Floyd at 154 with Canelo than the CW .Comment

Canelo came in for a Super Welterweight fight weighing in as a Super Middleweight and he was weight drained? Hahaha kick rocks
No fighter has any claim against being weight drained in this day and age when they agreed to fight and don't have to be at that weight on the day of the fight. Not Canelo for his Mayweather fight, not De La Hoya for his Pacquaio fight, not Cotto for his Pacquaio. They agreed to the stipulations end of story.
Ok, so back to Cotto. He looked good, but like Floyd said it was against a nobody was in there to make him look good. That's what a tuneup fight is. You get the kinks out and showcase to the fans why they need to watching you. The only time tuneups don't end this way are when the "A" fighter overlooks the fight and doesn't prepare (see Chavez Jr).Comment

Sr never gives cotto props he's just a grumpy old crackhead ppl thought Rodriguez would give cotto problems and he didn't ppl thought Rodriguez wouldn't get knocked out so early which he did cotto looked good can he do this type of performance against top level yes will he yes cotto can beat Canelo and Martinez if cotto can go to the body against Floyd and bust him up again and stay active for 12 rounds then yes cotto will beat Floyd in a rematch sr acting like Floyd won a easy fight he didn'tComment

I don't have a lot of respect for Roach, but I think that he can help Cotto.
