Comments Thread For: Floyd Sr.: Miguel Cotto could have done that without Roach!

While Miguel Cotto may have looked sensational in dispatching former world title challenger Delvin Rodriguez on HBO’s airwaves this past weekend, not everyone was sold on the Puerto Rican star’s performance.

Cotto faced Rodriguez inside of the Amway Center in Orlando, Fl. and he displayed vintage form, rocking his taller foe with crisp and powerful shots before dropping him at the start of the third round and forcing referee Frank Santore Jr. to wave the action off.

Catching up with outspoken trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. in Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon, he couldn’t find it within him to give Miguel any kind of real praise.

Jnr still gunna whop cotto no matter who trains him . I ain't no roach fan but it was not his fault his two best got ko'd .... He ain't teaching no one to walk in and get caught , that in my opinion is a fighters fault . Y'all can teach something 100 times but instincts kick in and y'all will go back to what you do .

Cotto gets a big knockout win vs a tune up and all of a sudden that makes him "ready" to KO Floyd in a rematch? Ever heard of looking good vs a certain level of competition...of course Cotto will look great vs a journeyman and lose to the best boxer in the world...just natural...that is why Delvin was chosen...if Cotto is all of a sudden this renewed, unstoppable machine, he should avenge his Trout loss
