It was an incredible fight

I really don't know why it didn't win FOTY. It had everything. Momentum swings, comebacks, blood, guts, skills, techniques, brawling, and to top it off, they were the two best WW at the time. What more can be asked. I recognize that that Vasquez/Marquez III happened too, but more was on the line in this battle

Since the very next day, people were looking for excuses as to why Cotto lost. I remember at first they said it was steroids. Fact is, many people just didn't like Margarito. I can't blame them for their ******ity. Rational and logical thinkers know Tony broke Cotto down fairly. Cotto himself never made excuses about HANDWRAPS until some dumbass put a picture online of string stuck to Tonys fist.

Widespread su****ion is enough to put doubt on it. Had he not been caught cheating with Mosley (ironically, another cheater) then he'd be fine. History will remember the doubt and loaded gloves. Unfortunate for a few on here, it seems.

I don't care either way. I enjoyed both fighters.

But Cotto softened Margarito up for Shane and Pac. Margs then softened Cotto for Pac.
