Sensible PR Boxing fans are realizing Cotto has way more grit and determination than Tito. Cotto is criticized constantly and hated on, but Tito quit the sport at the onset of failure. He couldn't handle it. Cotto's still trying to prove his mettle.

What version of Cotto are we on now? Upgrade #63?
Unfortunately in boxing today there is a dearth of multi skilled well rounded fighters and of really knowledgeable fans. They think a KO means so much more than it does.

Its like basketball-fans go crazy over a 360 dunk but its worth the same as an 18 foot jumper.

If Martinez is anywhere close to what he was he will KO Cotto. He will put up a good fight but will eventually get dropped and finished. Really, what does Cotto have in his advantage outside of a good jab??

That's really all you need to offset Sergio. There is no way you counter a shot with your hands at your sides, a powerful jab counts as a clean punch. Sergio is not some slick boxer, he fights like Roy Jones and now that his reaction time and most imporantly legs are going he'll be bigger. Sergio looks fast compared to MW's but he isn't faster on his feet than Cotto.

Timing is Cotto's best weapon in this fight. Barker, Macklin and Murray showed that Sergio's rhythm can be predictable at times and you can time him between his combinations.

Those guys all used good defence though and Cotto gets hit far too much.

Whether he's upgraded or not this is a fight I've wanted to see for a long time.

So just throw out the fact that Martinez was smaller than all of those fighters?

Sergio is also a lefty with fast hands and will be a lot bigger and stronger than Cotto if they fight. Unless Maravilla gets old and cannot do anything like he used to he will beat Cotto.
