Martinez-Golovkin is the obvious fight.

I can understand Martinez taking it for the money though.

But Golovkin is who he should be fighting.

I understand why no doubt, it is a winnable money fight why pass that up to take a tough fight which he could lose for less money. It would be silly for him to fight Golovkin honestly if Cotto is an option especially considering all the (unwarrented) hype Cotto has got for beating a fringe 154 pound guy.

Not like I wouldn't watch it though, so I can't complain that much.

If Cotto beats Sergio why not? Perfect opportunity to win the lineal MW title. When you jump up in weight like that, picking the right opponent is important and I think that will be a perfect opportunity for Floyd.

But your reaching because the argument is that Khan doesn't deserve to fight Floyd. Not that Floyd doesn't deserve to call shots. He can do whatever the hell he wants even if it is fighting someone who doesn't deserve to be in the ring with him. He can fight Zou Schming in Macau if he wants to. Does that make Zou deserving, hell no (my argument)? Does that mean Floyd hasn't earned the right to do what he wants, hell no (your argument which is something totally different).

But he's open to criticism if he goes that route and rightfully so.

That was my argument though it was an optional fight for Floyd and with nothing out there to prove it is acceptable that he does whatever. Khan is an opportunity to look good for Floyd which has it's own advantage, not that Khan is a quality choice.

Martinez on the other hand has fights he needs to take care of though before doing optional fights. IF someone cares deeply about guys earning their shots.

Cotto has done nothing to qualify for a shot at the middleweight crown~ he is no more deserving than Khan and the champion in each case is in a different spot. So it all depends on which prism you look through~
