They made a huge mistake trying to capitalize off of the Chavez win and not taking into account the night of the Murray fight that the ring was wet and slippery.

One not so stellar performance and now Martinez is past it? Dude has been KO'in MW's and took a flush shot from big ass Chavez Jr, got up and kept fighting. This is the same guy who put Paul Williams to sleep and out jabbed a certified jabber in Sergei Dzinziruk. Happens in boxing that a fighter doesn't always look great in every fight but there's no way Cotto beats Sergio Martinez. Cotto is going to sleep. Cotto is like 5'7" and Martinez is 5'10" and hits like a brick. The height and reach of Trout was a problem for Cotto and now all of a sudden Cotto beats Martinez at Middleweight?
If he can or he can't I will love to see him try!

This is how I see it too.

Cotto loses to Floyd then to trout and then beats delvin Rodriquez and all of the sudden he's a beast again and ready to take on MW champ of the world. Bad bad bad fight for cotto but his name has some tread left so might as well cash out.

            Martinez destroys cotto. Destroys him!

            And I'm a cotto fan

To be fair, he didn't just beat Delvin, he destroyed him. I agree though, Martinez wins.

IF Cotto gets him then he should defend the title by fighting GGG

IF May Jr wants some then he can take it from GGG cause GGG is gonna wipe out the whole bunch
                  JR doesnt desrve that

                  hope cotto jumps on that

Trout is bigger, slicker, and better conditioned than Martinez. Don't let the weight classes fool you, Sergio is as much of MW as Cotto is a JMW.

This has always been a decent style match up for Cotto...my only concern has been whether he can stand up to Sergio's power. If Sergio's knees are bothering him and he can't plant and sit down on his punches like he used to, Cotto will win...I truly believe that.

                    Sergio is not outboxing Cotto.
