Delvin was out on his feet at the end of the 2nd round. He started the 3rd hugging Cotto so the reff took all that in consideration.

Rodriguez was blinking a lot at the end of round 2. Kinda reminded me of mcclellan against benn. After the left hook in round 3 id say it was better to play it safe.

I agree but at the end of the day I wish the ref had allowed him to stand up and taken stock of him before stopping the fight. Regardless it was going to end that way. Delvin is good but not elite.

Stoppage was pre mature for a good even fight but Delvin was getting tagged at will and Cotto could have seriously hurt him if allowed to go on. Good stoppage by the ref in my book (the first two rounds showed that this wasn't going to be a competitive fight, why let Delvin take any more punishment?).

Totally agree. He was out, but ref should have gave him the respect to stand up.

Once Delvin's fight plan and jab were taken away by Cotto I didn't see any way for Delvin to even be competitive against Cotto. The stoppage may have been premature but its better then too late.
