Actually some have questioned its legality. That's neither here nor there, but it's not like Danny aimed a great shot and landed clean. It was very fortunate for him that Matthysse's eye swelled up as he was losing the fight.

I don't think he beats him unless Matthysse's eye swells up again. Weeks did a poor job overall with the constant low-blows. He's supposed to step in when a fighter gets tangled in the ropes too.



I had it even the first time I watched it, but rewatching it Matthysse won 4 or 5 of the first 6 rounds. Garcia's shots were almost all blocked, he was being out-boxed.

Nobody is arguing the decision, we're arguing whether or not Garcia is without question the better fighter... The winner isn't always the better fighter (Ali - Norton for example... Tyson - Douglas), and the swelling was without question, despite what u and others like you want to pretend, the be all end all of the fight

And that video proves Garcia did it by accident, emphasizing the point... He got lucky

I suspect the damage to the bone was done in the ensuing rounds since Matthysse could no longer see the punches coming.

The real mystery is the level of swelling, some have suggested it may have been linked to a prior injury in the Vivian Harris fight. Sounds like a reasonable hypothesis.

I'd prefer it if you didn't class me as part of the 'you guys', I called this a 50-50 fight. I merely have my opinions on the fight. Danny deserved to win but the eye injury changed the fight and was unfortunate and fortunate in equal measure.

I.. Surprisingly agree with this. Prior to the eye Lucas rolled under almost every left hook... And even then that "Kd" was what swung that fight around. Had that been a ruled a slip or Danny not been saved after being badly hurt then thats actually a Lucas win. :/... Now I havent watched it again recently but it seemed the ref stopped the action too quick in Dannys favor as opposed to waiting for a stop in the action (though I could be wrong).

Anyway... lucas' corner also f ucked up lol.
They did a Tyson vs Douglas. But yeah... For those not wearing goggles Lucas came off as the better fighter but Danny did what he had to and was allowed to for the win and gotta love that too. How can real boxing fans not like both these guys I dont understand... Unless you re part of an entourage I dont see how one can hate so strongly. Both dudes are great.
