Ugly? yes. he still dominated though and Povetkin never had the slightest bit of a chance. But there was nothing about this fight that suggesting Wlad sucks, is overrated, etc etc. That's just silly.

Still wish it would of been a better fight and Wlad didn't hold every time Povetkin got close, but the referee didn't stop him so why would he stop? He's not gonna let Povetkin just get in on him and clock him up close.
Well the haters will hate and this fight was like fuel on the bonfire to them obviously. Wlad won a boring decision, I wish Steward (RIP) would have been in his corner screaming his face off to be more aggressive like vs Chambers.

Boring as hell and disappointing but nothing got exposed and no he's not "talentless" or anything else like the haters are saying. I agree though. hell Wlad could probably KO Povetkin in the first round if he followed up his jab with the right hand more

wlad's just not very good. his first 40 fights or so he was an offensive wrecking machine. his offense was his defense, but then he stepped up his competition against guys that punched back like brewster and sanders and down he went. steward came aboard and realized the only way wlad could become a top fighter was if his opponents weren't allowed to throw any punches back because wlad was too slow and uncoordinated to develop a real defense. thus we have this frankenstein mofo holding on for dear life whenever his opponent is about to throw a punch. disgrace.

But who knows, if Haye beats Fury we will have Wlad-Haye II. Wouldn't mind that either, cause Haye has the speed and power if he doesn't run like a girl again.
Haye fought on the outside looking for counters... you really think Haye getting on the inside would have made that fight better.... Wlad would hold him like a newborn all night if he could

Did I suggest otherwise? The Haye fight was shit too, but at least Wlad was challenged by Haye's speed and athleticism. Povetkin looked like a bag of Russian potatoes.

of course i actually agree the Haye fight was not as bad as most people make out... its was tense and i had the feeling that anything could happen the whole fight much like Rigo vs Donaire

as soon as the first round was over in the Povetkin fight I knew Wlad was just going to hold all night as povetkin couldn't work his way in properly

exactly.. povetkin is too limited. meat and potatoes fighter. I don't think he's better than Manuel Charr. Wlad knew he could just hug him all night and cruise to a boring UD. Disappointed that Wlad didn't even want to knock him out though.

The first 5-6 rounds were close, it was far from dominating up until that point. Furthermore his illegal tactics totally neutralized Povetkin's inside fighting and tired him out, this is an entirely different fight had he actually been warned for it in the early rounds like he should've.

Please tell me what exactly Wlad would've done on the inside, remember he wouldn't be able to do all that holding. Without all that holding he'd be getting leather put on him, and we know how he deals with getting hit.

Eddie Chambers' trainer was developing an anti-clinch manuever but unfortunately hadn't perfected it in time for the Klitschko fight.
