He doesn't have that killer instinct in him anymore, its been fading ever since the Brewster loss in 2004.
I disagree - he killed Peter in their second fight a couple years ago and was also out for blood vs Wach... but last night he just seemed timid. Disappointing.... maybe that Hayden chick distracts him haha......

True, what I mean is that Wlad would be forced to throw more punches. Better entertainment for the fans.

Regardless of our arguments, I fully respect you for coming out and admitting this.

I will say that Povetkin shouldn't be blamed. He went for the inside and tried to evade the jab which resulted in Klit hugging and clinching.

I was disappointed as well. Wlad spoke about how Povetkin was his best opponent to date and how much of a big fight this was so I expected him to provide a spectacular performance. Povetkin had nothing to challenge Wlad yet he was able to survive. I'm still a fan of him though. I just won't watch this fight ever again.

Povetkin did some of the same bending over on the inside against Huck which made for a ugly fight at times he slipped the jab then just got close to do what certainly not throw any punches bcse he threw very few

The taller guys don't really try to fight on the inside they stay on the outside so there's less holding , he's programmed/muscle memory to grab if a fighter gets close that's just how he handles that, he was also punching Povetkin with a uppercut while he had him in a headlock which I found humorous

A lot of the holding had to do with Povetkin, his aim to get inside was a decent plan but he was reckless in it and rushed too far in thus really forcing Wlad's hand and making it so easy to tie up. Plus Povetkin just languished on the inside when not tied up and was even less active when clinched.

There was also the fact he never retaliated, the ref was obviously doing nothing about the leaning, pushing, throwing so Povetkin needed to at least push/throw Wlad down once or twice and maybe that would have thrown him off. Povetkin's goal was to make it a rough and tumble fight and he sort of succeeded but it was Wlad doing all the rough and tumble stuff.

Wald certainly fought a very spoiling negative fight but Povetkin did himself no favors in those regards.

Povetkin went underneath the jab to get on Kilt's inside. Klit has no inside game WHATSOEVER and resorted to clinching, hugging, holding and raping to prevent Povetkin from making contact.

I cannot see how Povetkin can be blamed for any of this. He went there to make a fight of it, not to hug.

Wlad came to stink it out and Povetkin, for all his sound fundamentals, didn't have the know how to combat it. When Pabon wasn't calling that ****, Povetkin should have started ****ing the hips and cup and then saying "hey, he's pushing me down...oops (wink)." He also should have stood up with hard shoulders to the face and used his forearms back. Wlad was Bernard Hopkins dirty last night with a side of John Ruiz to make it uglier.

Povetkin didn't know what to do in an alley fight.

I am a big Wlad fan too but this one was a dud. So be it, you can't KO every foe you face.

It wasn't a dud because he didn't ko him it was a dud because the bum ref allowed him to lean and clinch every few seconds. If the ref issued warnings earlier and took points if he had to then I think we would have gotten a decent fight with a Wlad ko/tko as the result.
