HBO is not done but I still question their overall direction, if they ever end the GBP feud they will be in great position but relying on Top Rank is very hit or miss.

They have had some quality fights this year though and have some more quality ones lines up to end the year.

What is it with you people and the ratings? This goes far beyond just ratings. Their overall product is trash. What's so hard to understand?

HBO has more subscribers than Showtime. And JC Jr. is living off his father's name.

Showtime has the better boxing product right now. Period.

Showtime has Hopkins vs Murat and Alexander vs TBA on tap till new years. Maybe Paulie Judah, some garbage like that. Their first 4 months were garbage before Trout Canelo, Garcia Judah being the highlight. HBO is ahead in the FOTY stakes as well. Really, by far the best Showtime card of the year was Berto vs Soto Karass, an ESPN level show.

HBO has middle of the road fighters headlining cards because they no stars right now. Thats why they gave Cotto 3 mil with the hope of he will fight again on HBO after this fight.

The 2 best showtime cards of the year, Berto vs Karass and Maidana v Lopez were packed with fringe contenders. Very good shows though, shame about the pathetic numbers

HBO has close to 5 mil more subscribers they will prob always have better rating even for horrible cards. Since the split Showtime has had the better product. HBO prob wont outdo Showtime on PPV for a while.

PPV doesn't do anything for the subscribers. I'm not seeing this great product from SHO.. It's been good, but their 1st and 3rd trimester were dry as hell. The middle one was good, but really those 2 ESPN level shows were the best they put on. And HBO is ahead FOTY wise.

Btw 5m doesn't explain the terrible numbers there. Those 2 quality shows combined were seen by way fewer than just Chavez last fight got
