He was the favorite over Danny for no reason and it was clear why he never should've been once the final bell rang. He was a guy who had never won a major title coming off one impressive victory that and was being touted as "the next manny pacquiao" if that's not overhyped then what is ? Buddy boy.

No ref in the U.S. would have helped Lucas against the Philly kid...

I know for a fact if you get your head caught in the ropes you better hope and pray a ref does come in and save your ass... cause if you get clipped and you get knocked out what do you think is going to happen ? No contest ? Lol ... Nope it's a ko ... Same way you're not supposed to punch someone in the back of the head... If a fighter turns his back to the fighter in front of him the ref will usually stop the action to warn the fighter for doing so or completely stop the fight if the fighter can't go on ... But if a fighter deliberately turns his back to another fighter and the ref doesn't make it there in time he better expect to get hit and hit hard

Agree, Garcia punched at an open target. He did what fighters do. Doesn't mean it was legal however, but no one can say definitively whether it's legal or not so it's a moot point.

You should know titles dont mean much in this sport anymore. Who said he was the next pacman other than HIS PROMOTER whos job it is to promote him lol while danny had one impressive victory too against the worst chin in boxing yet khan, bradley and vicious ortiz failed to KO lamont, lucas comes and does it fairly easy and early but yea hes a hypejob

I think your reaching ... so basically you could be the greatest fighter of all time if you just keep your head in between the ropes and stay in one spot. Your opponent can't throw punches because they are illegal and you could just tee off if he gets close. Of course it would backfire if both fighters stuck their head in between the ropes on opposite sides of the ring. In which case it would go the full distance with no punches landed and most likely be scored a draw.

Now we're talking semantics ... Garcia had quite a few impressive victories wether you would like to admit it or not. He had a better resume than Mathysse and again wether you admit it or not if belts don't mean much anymore how come Lucas can't seem to get one himself ? They don't exactly hand those things out ... You have to earn them. Did his promoter (same as Danny's) ever call Danny "the next Mayweather" ? Was the general opinion that Danny would get ko'd this fight or lose badly ?.. Lucas was overhyped I think that's something most people can agree on.

Lucas was not over-hyped. Danny just did his mid-range hooker job wonderfully and and won a competitive fight.

He wasn't ??? So how do you suppose he was almost a 3-1 betting favorite over the champion ? Based on what ? We're you following some Of the threads on this site about Lucas before the fight got made ? Wether or not people agreed with Schaefer calling him the next pacquiao no one called him on it ... People were actually believing that ****... Come on to say he wasn't even a little overhyped is being dishonest.
