Taking a single step towards doing that might help him.

If Floyd continues to dominate his opposition, I think he might go for it, if he isn't able to get a Pacquiao fight (because after he beats him, he might feel he has nothing to prove). He'll definitely consider it if Sergio still has the Middleweight title; if GGG KO's Sergio before then, I doubt it (not because of him, but because of him listening to the people around him arguing against it).

If Floyd wants to appear credible for being talked upon along the lines of being GOAT candidate he has to fight bigger guys. And it shouldn't be a problem for him to do that, cos his style is based on hit and not being hit. There is no responsibility on Floyd to ko anyone as he doesn't do that, so there is responsibilities in other areas for Floyd to compensate. And that is outpointing bigger boys, and he has to prove his hit and not get hit works against bigger boys, and not just weight draining green fighters.

So we are of course expecting Floyd to outpoint as many champs in the higher weight classes if there is no one in his division credible currently.

                Great point.

But i can name 33 more accomplished fighters.

Floyd is super talented , but he doesnt have huge wins. His best win is vs a B level fighter. And he has never fought an A level fighter once.

Only floyd fans think he is the goat or has a chance.
Just the fact of the pacman fight never being made its impossible for floyd to crack top 25

ANd went down like a champ who ACTUALLY dared to be Great.

while i considered Mayweather as the most skilled of our genereation, theres just something missing for him to be the greatest.
