floyd vs lara at 152
Mayweather can't be compared to the greats of the past. He's another Cesar Chavez jr. who cherry picked his opponents and has 45 wins and one loss against a real opponent. The greats of the past had no catchweights. they also fought 15 rounds. Floyd has honed his skills against tomato cans, or washed up fighters. Roy Jones was faster and hit harder. Leonard would have beat him and so would Hearns, Benitez and Duran. If they were active today and in their prime mayweather would not fight them. He would find an excuse like he did for Pacman. At least he trains hard and comes in excellent condition. Mike McCallum would have knocked him out. I won't see another fight that has catchweights. That gives one fighter an unfair advantage over another. Mayweather never looked in Margaritos way or Paul Williams. Chicken Mayweather.Comment

Why is Lara deserving? Only 21 pro fights, with Angulo being his best win, didn't look to impressive against Vanes either. How can you sell this? Boxing is a business and all about money now a days. I don't care about All Access and PPV buys, but you already know who does.
Floyd fights and beats Lara, than what? He doesn't get any glory, nor is he going to get a ton a money based off the fact that Lara hasn't accomplished anything in boxing. Lara is who he is because of the Williams fight. We all thought he beat Paul and Lara's stock sky rocketed.
Lets not forget that Floyd is not a junior middleweight. He doesn't have to make a living at this weight like everyone wants him to. Floyd is a welter weight fighting junior middleweights and gets no props for it. People have even made threads about Floyd fighting GGG who is a middleweight, Gtfo.Comment

Well thats one way of looking at it, personally I think your opinion is worthless as a bag of ****, but you are entitled too it.Mayweather can't be compared to the greats of the past. Floyd better now than he was then and Lara ain't no prime Judah. Ye judah used to be a messed up SOB but the *****aa had mad skills and speed. Lara aint on that level. He should rematch Angulo.Comment

Who's saying he should sit on his ass until next May though? Everybody agrees that he needs to beat Trout, Canelo or Molina first. And I'm well aware of the business of boxing. Let's see them sell Devon Alexander.
Oh yeah, and he's his mandatory. You have to fight through eliminators to get that spot. You know, "Fight for the opportunity to earn a title". Does that make sense nowadays? God forbid somebody earn a mandatory challenger spot nowadays. All the great ones skip that part and pay their way to the top, right? Especially Amir "Mr. #1 ranked WBC welterweight without ever fighting in the division" Khan.
Here we go again with the "Floyd gets no credit BS". How do you explain him saying **** like this though:Boxing is a business and all about money now a days. I don't care about All Access and PPV buys, but you already know who does.

"It's my teams job to make my life as easy as possible, so I can retire healthy"
You probably agree with him, but I want to see his skills tested against capable opposition. Not one dimensional, flat footed, no hopers with gullible fans that want to see Floyd get KTFO.
And it was deserved. Williams was a good fighter. Who has Alexander or Khan beaten that's on the level of a Paul Williams.Lara is who he is because of the Williams fight. We all thought he beat Paul and Lara's stock sky rocketed.
Don't put me in the category of Floyd haters who want to see him in the ring with the Klitsckos Stay on topic. Lara is a small JMW who weighs in at 154 with baggy shorts on.Lets not forget that Floyd is not a junior middleweight. He doesn't have to make a living at this weight like everyone wants him to. Floyd is a welter weight fighting junior middleweights and gets no props for it. People have even made threads about Floyd fighting GGG who is a middleweight, Gtfo.
If Floyd wants to hold titles at 154 than fight all of the contenders and not just the flat footed guys with big fanbases.Last edited by -PBP-; 09-21-2013, 05:49 PM.Comment

Easy fight for floyd. How come people still don't get it? Nobody is outboxing floyd. Lara would be trying to outslick, out think and out box floyd because that's his game and he would fail miserably. Why do you think floyd looks better fighting technical fighters that like to box like marquez or canelo?
You need someone who does not get discouraged by getting hit to make floyd work. Margarito would be a lot tougher for mayweather than lara.Comment

Has it ever occured to you that maybe Angulo was a lil bit better than he'd been in years?? It happens bro. Sometimes a fighter can make adjustments. Lol at "would get beat easily". Is that your idea of a fact??Comment
