And yeah, but I think the Khan-Alexander winner will get the shot in May so Garcia needs to do something in the mean time. If he's not moving to 147 then Matthysse or Peterson are the only options really.
I don't think Danny will get his shot till May 2015, he would get shut out by Floyd so no need to hurry

If I told you there was a fighter and he had 3 losses but 2 were robberies and the other was close I'd be embarrassed.

But Danny stepped up, and showed he is capable of beating a "top guy" that won't be filing for social security in the next year or so. Props to him for that.
The Khan win was a big and good win for him too because prior Khan was considered a top guy at 140 even after the Peterson fight. I didn't follow Danny for a long time but when I watched him fight Khan I knew he was a good fighter who was solid because he's a thinker who can adjust. He never loses his cool and times his opponents very well. Matthysse was the flavor of the month. He's good too but once you take his punch away he can be beat because he doesn't have another look.

I knew Garcia was going to win from the beginning but I think a lot of posters/analysis/fans jumped on the Lucas Matthysse band wagon because of his power. They didn't properly access the fighters styles. Garcia is the kind of fighter who learns from his mistakes and corrects them.

Matthysse can't beat him. Best thing would be for Matthysse to fight some other opponents instead of calling Garcia out for a rematch because another loss to Danny would hurt his career. He did well and should move forward in another direction. Same with Danny.

Swift adjusted in BOTH fights and if they ever do rematches for those 2 fights....I am almost certain Swift will win both rematches by KO

I agree that Garcia clearly bested Matthysse and that Lucas' fans have been lame as hell in the aftermath. But the Khan fight is a different story. I think Khan was outclassing Danny, something Matthysse never came close to doing. And I think Khan is much more deserving of a rematch than Matthysse. Khan would probably beat Danny in a rematch, which is why Angel made it clear he wanted no part of it.

Khan is not beating Garcia. Khan has gotten worst since their meeting while Danny is getting better. Khan gets KO'd again because he is too reckless and Garcia will patiently time him. Khan can't beat Garcia.

Matthysse didn't have a plan B because his heavy hands usually don't require it. I said from the beginning that Garcia's chin and his boxing ability will be the difference. Once he passed the test from a flush shot to the side of his face in the first round I knew he would come out on top. Swollen eye or not Matthysse was losing that fight.

I walked away from Garcia-Khan feeling that Amir was the better fighter and simoply got caught. I have a ton of respect for Garcia and would like to see him get Floyd next. But after he loses that, I wanna see him revisit Khan. "Duck" is too strong a word. But, I feel that Danny got the win over Khan and his team clearly wanted no part of a rematch.

As for Matthysse, I'm with you. He loses to Danny 7 or 8 times outta 10. At this point, a rematch is pretty much pointless. If anything, Danny would probably beat him worse because he won't be nearly as tentative as he was early in the fight. He knows he's better. He knows he can handle the power (which is overrated.) So he would simply come out and establish who's boss from jump.

Stopped reading and started loling as soon as you said Khan deserved a rematch more than Lucas. That's about the ******est thing I've seen all morning. That's even worse than blaming Bradley for Pacman losing and Mattysse for his fans.

Edit: Maybe not ******er, but just as ******.

what's there to be embarrassed about? it's true. You can't help judges scoring a fight incorrectly just like Floyd can't help the history books saying he beat Canelo by majority decision when really it should say Floyd beat Canelo 120-108.

Yes a mere con has the tools to trouble Garcia, but just like the first fight, somewhere over the course of 12 rds Garcia puts leather on that weak chin and scores a KO
