He looked small against Trout, and should have finished Yuri Foreman early than what would have been. Cottos def a better faster, powerful fighter at 147. Even Roach agreed, so hopefully he dominates this next fight, then moves back down to fight Marquez in a legacy ending fight

It's ironic that now everyone thinks that Cotto can still fight at a 147 lbs but at least Miguel doesn't think so; Because when offered the opportunity to fight at Welterweight in the Fall of 2012, he simply refused and turned it down. His reasoning was that coming down to fight at 147 lbs would be asking him to cut too much weight and he wanted his body to feel like it was at full-strength. Therefore, he submitted a counter offer for a catch weight of 150 lbs, which was subsequently denied. When his counter offer was denied, he then opted to challenge Austin Trout for his 154 lbs WBA title belt and lost. Also, this is the exact same claim that many boxing fans made when he lost his last fought at a 147; That he had to cut too much weight and was weakened because of it. So now I guess boxing fans feel that his body has been miraculously reinvigorated to fight a lower weight class even at the age of 32.

Some people in this thread seem to think Cotto-Margarito II was fought at 151. They fought at 153 lb CW. Cotto suggested 150, Marg said no, and they arrived at 153.

He's 154. Just finish out your time, win or lose and then retire. He will get crushed at 147 if he decides to go back down.
As someone who DOES workout on a near daily basis and stays in shape I agree with most of what you said. Most here really are ****** and have no real appreciation as to what it takes to get into the kind of shape these fighters are in to go 12 rounds.

Having said that, I don't think Cotto would let anyone talk him down to 147 if he couldn't comfortably make the weight. He hasn't looked steller at 154 except against Mayweather so this could be a good move for his body type but only time will tell.

Lets see if it translates in the ring with better opponents than his next , I don't see how Freddie can say its his best camp ever when its the first time he has trained him .

Ariza saying that Freddie is over training guys getting them knocked out is an echo in the back of my head .
